Halloween 4 (1988)

Corrected entry: Michael throws Dr. Loomis out a window which surely would have killed him, but he shows up near the end at the Carruthers house perfectly fine (albeit with cuts on his face).

Joey221995

Correction: Since when in Hollywood has being thrown through a window killed a person (assuming not a multi story fall). Even in real life people occasionally walk away largely un-injured from accidents that they SHOULD have been largely damaged by.

Floyd1977

Corrected entry: When Frank Poole and HAL are playing chess, HAL states his move as (in what is called "Descriptive Notation") "Queen to Bishop Three". This is not true, the move he makes is "Queen to Bishop Six".

Correction: This mistake is intentional, meant for the astute viewer to notice that something isn't quite right with HAL.

Floyd1977

Corrected entry: When Bowman leaves Discovery to retrieve the AE-35 Unit, he asks HAL to prepare the "B Pod" and HAL powers up and rotates the middle of three pods. Later, when Bowman asks Poole to help him with a problematic transmitter in "C-pod", they go to the pod bay and enter the middle pod which must still be B-pod as no two pods have left the ship and returned to shuffle their positions. (01:12:30 - 01:22:40)

Correction: This could be a character mistake. And it makes sense in the context of the film. It's the exact kind of thing that would make HAL paranoid if Dave and Frank entered a different pod that they mentioned earlier. It's kind of a counterpart to HAL incorrectly identifying the sequence of moves to checkmate in the Chess game he was playing with Frank.

The Shining (1980)

Corrected entry: When the blood spills from the elevator the editors try to make it look like the whole room is filled with blood by just putting a red screen over the camera, but you can see that the blood is only filled half way in the room. (01:45:35)

ilikepie00

Correction: They put a red filter on to give the illusion that the blood has splashed over the "eyes of the viewer". It's merely a stylistic choice and not necessarily meant to suggest the room was completely filled.

Halloween (1978)

Corrected entry: Michael was locked up for 15 years, so how does he even know where Laurie lives? Let alone know what she looks like or that the Strodes adopted her. The nurse states in part 2 that those records are sealed by the state.

Correction: Michael does not know where Laurie lives. He first sees her when she drops off the key to the Myers house and he follows her throughout the day. This is how he finds out where she lives (so he can appear in her back yard).

Floyd1977

Correction: When this film was made, the idea that Laurie was Michael's sister wasn't part of the plot yet. Hence, no mistake here. As far as this movie is concerned, Michael is merely stalking random babysitters. If anything, it's a mistake for the sequel that introduced this plot element.

TedStixon

Factual error: During the baseball game in the beginning if you look in the background you can see several palm trees in the background. The movie takes place in Ohio where there are no palm trees. (00:09:15 - 00:10:05)

Suggested correction: Ohio is never specified as the state where the Nightmare movies take place until later in the series. As long as the state is unspecified as it is in Nightmare 2 and 1, visible palm trees are not a mistake.

Floyd1977

All the films are supposed to take place in the same city. So if part 6 takes place in Springwood, Ohio, than so does this one.

While it would be true that the location in all previous films are now Ohio, it's hard to say if it's a mistake for the first 5 films, especially if there's no evidence for it being set in Ohio and evidence points to California. It would be more appropriate to make an entry in the 6th film saying the Ohio location contradicts what has been already seen. Otherwise, you would have to make a mistake entry every time the first 5 films reveal it's not set in Ohio, but filmed in California.

Bishop73

Suggested correction: Per the screenplays, the first two movies take place in Los Angeles.

I believe it was Wes Craven's intention to mention it's set in Los Angeles, but the actual script and film never state where Elm Street is located. It was an un-named suburb.

Bishop73

Correction: It's obviously a supernatural death taking place, so the amount of blood that erupts from the bed does not have to match the volume of blood that one human body contains.
