Pearl Harbor (2001)

Factual error: As the RAF aircrew are running for their aircraft during the scramble sequence, one of the Spitfires can be seen showing a serial of 'AR4474' briefly. This is incorrect not only for a wartime Spitfire, but is completely out of sequence for any UK military aircraft. All four flying Spitfires used during filming had similar inaccurate serials. Battleship (2012)

Factual error: When the USS John Paul Johns sinks and the lead characters are climbing onto the flight deck, the twin helicopter hangar can be seen behind. The ship is a early Flight 1 Arleigh Burke class DDG and lacks the hangars that were only introduced with Flight IIA. (01:35:15)

Factual error: All the aircraft embarked onboard the USS Nimitz are part of Carrier Air Wing Eight, and carry the correct tail code 'AJ' for that wing. CVW-8 was Atlantic assigned, as was the Nimitz herself at that time. A Pacific based CVW uses the 'Nx' codes.

Dog Soldiers (2002)

Factual error: The Agusta A109 helicopter that drops the squad into Scotland carries a incorrect UK military serial. 'XZ2541' is one number too many - UK military serials are two letters, followed by three numbers. Also, at the time of filming the only Agusta A109s on the UK military register were operated by 8 Flt, Army Air Corps and were dedicated to SAS support. (00:07:30)
