Character mistake: An escaping criminal steals an airplane and proceeds to take off. Let's not even discuss how a non pilot with just flight simulator time and no instruction could even do such a thing, especially starting it by watching a computer. What would never happen is that when confronted with a group of police cars in his way trying to prevent his takeoff, only then does he proceed to advance to full power. All takeoffs are done with full power from the beginning, otherwise you run the risk of never taking off at all.(00:31:40)
Continuity mistake: One moment Frankie takes out two shot glasses and a bottle and starts to pour. She pours maybe one-fourth of one glass. The very next shot, both glasses are filled.(00:03:35)
Factual error: While the location of National City is never revealed, it is generally accepted that it is located in the US. But all the helicopters used to fly Lex around are Canadian.
Factual error: Bozer and for that matter I would assume all of the team went to a spycraft academy. A basic subject in any of such academies is surveillance, including proper techniques to follow and stake out someone. Bozer being so inept at tracking MacGyver's father is inconceivable given their training.
Plot hole: The team is trying to recreate the movements of a murdered seed vault employee by using his phone's geolocation attributes (compass, accelerometer, altimeter, etc). They are trying to backtrack from the place they found the murdered employee to where he first surprised his killer. They backtrack using the data from the employee's phone, and there is another set of data shown on the computer. But they only have one phone's data to work with. Where did the data presumably from the killer's phone come from?(00:12:50)
Factual error: A newspaper clipping is shown saying a 15 year old boy became the youngest licensed pilot in Connecticut history. It goes on to say he finished his instruction, signed the paperwork, and took off again in a rented plane for his first solo flight. There are many errors here: 1 - The minimum age for even a student pilot's license is 16. For an unpowered glider, it is 14, but such was not the case here. 2 - Further, a student pilot is not a "licensed" pilot. 3 - In order to obtain a private pilot's license, besides all the written tests and practical instruction, the student needs to have completed: 5 hours of solo cross country flying; 1 solo cross country flight of at least 150nm total distance with full stop landings at 3 points; and one segment of at least 50nm between T/O and landings. So he could not have gone on "his first solo flight" after receiving his license. 4 - A new pilot does not have to sign anything. It is the Aviation Examiner that has to sign off the student and give him a temporary license upon satisfactory completion of the private pilot flight test.(00:26:00)
Continuity mistake: Rich hacks into a secret web conversation where a meeting is being set up. The meeting is to be at the Travis Hotel, Room 319, 3 PM. Shortly thereafter, talking about the finding, they say that the meeting is going to be at the Caris Hotel.(00:16:10)
Continuity mistake: Michael invites Spock to play chess. She presents a board with three levels. Later, when the game is underway, the board has seven levels by the addition of four smaller boards.(00:17:50 - 00:21:25)
Continuity mistake: Jerry is briefing the team. He says that HPD processed "the van" and found... This is the first mention that HPD even found a van. They were looking with keys found on the victim to see if nearby vehicles would fit them, but there was no prior mention that they had found any vehicle at all.(00:08:50)
Factual error: A defibrillator is needed immediately. Adam runs to a storage closet and rummages around for a while, and finally finds a defibrillator deep under other things. This medical clinic is a public place. No one would ever bury an automated external defibrillator (AED) under other items in a storage room. AEDs would be visible and accessible for just such emergencies, as instructed on the devices themselves.(00:35:35)
Other mistake: Lou Grover is searching an apartment when he comes across five silver-topped drug vials in a bag. He reaches in and takes four of them, and then declares he has found the drug dealer's inventory. Why did he leave one behind?(00:27:10)
Other mistake: A bomber leisurely throws a backpack into a trashcan, which explodes moments later. It does not seem to weigh much, and is easily handled by one hand without effort. Later, we learn that the bomb used about 100 pounds of ammonium nitrate. There could not have been 100 pounds of ammonium nitrate in that backpack considering how easily it was handled.(00:01:30)
Other mistake: A mayday call is received. It is shown on the moving map display as originating to starboard of the boat Magnum and Higgins are on. They promise to go help but turn to port.(00:01:50)
Character mistake: Ana Ortiz, who plays Susan Sampson, is of Puerto Rican ancestry and speaks Spanish perfectly, without any accent. At the very end of this episode she is giving a toast to "a very successful mission" and then add "y muchos mas", which is supposed to mean "and many more." Except that in Spanish, missions are female, and she should have said "y muchas mas."(00:47:50)
Revealing mistake: Will and Frankie are in a boat. In the first wide shot the boat is going rather slowly, in the next shot they are speeding many times faster, and the shot is erratic, showing that the action was speeded up.(00:02:05)
Character mistake: A chart shows the components of a bomb. Among the items listed is what should be acetone peroxide, but it is misspelled as aceton peroxid.(00:10:15)
Stupidity: A supposedly covert camera is placed in plain sight on a wall in a crowded room, with a prominent antenna showing, and a blinking blue light.(00:16:55)
Character mistake: A van is shown with "Aureli Fallaci" on the side and front. Aureli is the plural of Aurelius, a proper name. Fallaci - the plural of fallacio - just means "fallacious or deceptive." So the letters on this surveillance truck mean nothing logical. It stands out like a sore thumb. Not what you want for a covert surveillance van.(00:15:15)
Suggested correction:Aureli and Fallici are just two common last names in Italy. (Like writer Oriana Fallaci) So the van can be from a catering company that uses the last names of company founders (very common in Italy). The fallaci meanings "failure" it's correct but no-one who see it on a Van in Italy will think about "failure" instead of a last name.
