The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: When Batman is about to dive off the building in hong kong to kidnap Lau, he is wearing a high pressure mask with breathing apparatus that cover his face. However when he finally crashes through the building, the mask and helmet change to the normal Batman mask.

Correction: He only wears his new Batman mask that Fox re-designed for him so that he can turn his head. There is no special breathing apparatus or high pressure mask; you can see this clearly when he puts his new headgear on. He's not that high up, he would need no special breathing equipment on a skyscraper or for his extraction on a low-altitude airplane (if he did, he would also need to bring equipment for Lau).

Jumanji (1995)

Corrected entry: When Aunt Nora calls the house and Judy picks up the phone, the phone is very sitting neatly for something that would have been knocked askew since a great herd of elephants, rhinos and zebras just came running through the house.

Correction: We don't see it fall or get hit, so we'll have to assume it survived the stampede intact. If we saw it fall and then re-appear on the table without intervention it would be a movie mistake.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Correction: I re-watched this scene two times thinking the same thing. On closer inspection it is the dark lighting of the parking garage that makes his eyes appear brown. On some of the close-ups with the proper lighting (like when he is talking Batman) you can see the natural bright blue color of his eyes.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: When Gordon smashes the bat-signal at the end of the movie, it is switched on. Aside from being a highly dangerous thing to do, there is no reason for the signal to be switched on in the first place. The whole point of Gordon smashing the signal is that the cops don't trust Batman, so they wouldn't be signalling for him. And it's not like Batman would answer it, since he already knows the cops are after him. Plus Gordon would probably get electrocuted since he used a metal axe.

Correction: A symbolic gesture - and a character choice, not a movie mistake. Gordon was there for Harvey's death and knows Batman will not respond. The wooden handle of the axe would protect him from electrocution.

Corrected entry: In the beginning of the movie, when the cruise missile is fired against the "terrorist marketplace," that missile cannot be ordered to self-destruct (by the famous "red button") because it is out of range. However, the on-board camera of the missile seems to be still within range, because it continues to transmit "live coverage" from its flight, which can be received and displayed in acceptable quality at the command post.

Correction: The video signal from the missile operates on a different frequency than the radio signal from the ship - lower frequencies can travel further.

Corrected entry: In the opening scene when Bond is flying the jet and the guy in the back is choking him with the garroting wire, when Bond ejects the guy the wire is still wrapped around his neck, and as the other pilot was holding the wire pretty tight, surely the force of the upward motion combined with the tightness of the wire would rip Bond's head clean off, resulting in no more 007.

Correction: He was so suprised by the activation of the ejection seat that he released his grip on the wire. If you were about to crash head-first into the undercarriage of an jet you would also probably drop whatever was in your hands and brace for the impact.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: At the fundraiser for Harvey Dent, as the Joker is intimidating Rachel, he says "You've got a little fight in you. I like that," then we hear Batman say "then you're gonna love me" and he hits the Joker. There's no way he could have got so close to the Joker without being noticed earlier, considering it's a brightly-lit room full of party guests and several of the Joker's henchmen.

Correction: All eyes are on the Joker, and Bruce Wayne was trained to be a Ninja - to become "invisible" when needed. The combination of these elements makes it very possible for him to appear in the room undetected. In the words of Jim Gordon, "He does that".

BocaDavie

Correction: Not likely - do you think they shot off the real Roger Moore's fingers? Remember, the whole area is on a huge raised scaffolding, movement around the room could cause the dummy to sway.

Corrected entry: When Stromberg's secretary is eaten by the shark, the video picture shown on Stromberg's screen is very close to her, however she is in the middle of the pool. Where is that automatic underwater camera placed?

Jacob La Cour

Correction: Zoom lens.

Moonraker (1979)

Corrected entry: When Bond is in Rio watching the planes taking off through a telescope he follows its path only to be looking straight at Dr Goodhead, looking straight at him, ALSO through a telescope. Bond then takes about 5 steps towards Holly meaning that the plane must have passed close enough for them both to have jumped on.

Paul Bessant

Correction: The plane is in the far distance, Bond needs to re-focus the telescope to see Dr. Goodhead.

Moonraker (1979)

Corrected entry: After Bond and the guard have tumbled out of the ambulance in Rio, Dr. Goodhead, the CIA agent, is left alone in the van. She should be able to escape. She is still tied up, but she should be able to free herself in the same way that Bond did, especially as there is now no one to stop her. Why is she still a captive later on in the film?

Correction: Several possibilities - her stretcher didn't have the same railing that Bond had, she did escape but was recaptured, etc. Basically, she didn't escape.

Logan's Run (1976)

Corrected entry: When Logan and Jessica decide to return to the city, they go down to the bottom of a fountain where there is a little pool of water and jump in. When they and all the people from the city arrive back at the fountain, they arrive at the top where there is no way of exiting.

Gavin Jackson

Correction: It's implied that the explosions blew a hole in the dome, allowing the people to escape.

Corrected entry: In the opening scene when Doc wakes up he turns on the TV to hear "Hey kids, what time is it? It's Howdy Dowdy time." Doc, on the phone, says the time is 7 o'clock AM. Any smart baby boomer knows that Howdy Dowdy aired at 5:30 PM EST. (00:05:17)

Correction: Look at the mass of electronics on top of the television. It's likely that Doc has constructed a recording device and is using a recording of Howdy Dowdy as an alarm clock (remember his facination with the modern video camera in Part 1). We also know from the beginning of Part 1 that Doc has an obsession with setting alarm clocks.

Corrected entry: After the two missiles blow up the submarines, and then there is the scene with the nuclear explosion, you can see a palm tree at the bottom of the screen. The "globe map" shows the subs in the middle of the ocean.

Correction: Actually, it shows them on either sides of the ocean as they prepare for the missile launch. The westernmost sub may have been close enough to the Carribean to be seen from a small island.

Moonraker (1979)

Corrected entry: Why is the space station not visible from earth? Its got a radar jamming device so it can't be tracked by radar, but it hasent got a cloaking device. So you would still be able to see it with the naked eye from Earth. You could see MIR and the International Space Station.

Correction: You would see MIR or the ISS only if you were looking for them, and even then you would need a powerful telescope to see that they were spaceships. Unless you were specifically looking for this space station it would appear, at best, as a dim star for the casual observers from earth - and no one was looking for it.

Moonraker (1979)

Corrected entry: Laser beams should be invisible in vacuum, such as the final battle scene.

Correction: Should be, yes; and should not "strike" an object with an audible impact. These are apparently not lasers, the only real "laser" in the film is the one aimed at the American shuttle. These are some imaginary technology weapons that fire an energy bolt that leaves a tracer behind.

The Dark Knight (2008)

Corrected entry: When the Joker is riding away from the police station after he 'detonates' one of his henchmen, he is seen hanging out of the back of a squad car. For obvious reasons (possible escape) the back windows of a squad car are inoperable and the back doors can only be opened from the outside.

Correction: The electric windows in a modern police cruiser cannot be rolled down from the back seat; only from the front driver's side.

Corrected entry: Radiation does not cause electronic timers to accelerate.

Correction: Please provide some explaination for this assumption. In the movie Dr. Mathewson explains how the radiation causes the timer to accelerate, if you have evidence that this doesn't work in the real world (and specific proof that it would not occur for this particular device) please give a short synopsis in your submission.

Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Corrected entry: When MJ goes back to her apartment, she attempts to turn on the light and the power is off. She listens to a telephone message, which she couldn't do if the power was out.

Correction: Unknown if Harry just broke or removed the lightbulb to keep the lights off. They never show that all the power is off in the apartment, only that the light won't go on. Also, there are some answering machines with battery-backups.

Corrected entry: The gravestone as seen by Marty and Doc in 1955 is in the same mint condition as when we later see it being made in 1885. Given that it has remained outside for 80 years, shouldn't it be more weather beaten or damaged?

Correction: Not really; I've visited dozens of graveyards and seen thousands of tombstones. Solid granite tombstones hold up very well in dry areas, like the setting of the graveyard in the movie. Tombstones in climates that have a regular change of seasons have more weathering damage.
