The Protégé (2021)

Factual error: When the maid is shot with the shotgun, she flies back multiple feet. In reality, it would only be 1 or possibly 2 feet. (00:25:20)

The Marksman (2021)

Factual error: The scope Jim is using is completely wrong (yes I know he tested the wind using dirt) but as a U.S.M.C. Marksman his scope would have had mil-dots on both the horizontal and vertical bars. (00:04:24)

Movie Medic

Factual error: After the investigation the barrier tape (crime scene tape) would have been taken down. Also, there is no reason to have barrier tape inside a residence if the outside is already marked. (00:29:28 - 00:30:00)

Suggested correction: There could be legitimate uses of crime scene or barricade tape inside of a structure, such as roping off an area that forensics has not yet got to or finished. There might be a lot of officers walking through the house, so the tape could be used to restrict their movement to prevent contamination of evidence. As a warning that only authorized personnel may enter, news reporters and others would know to stay out.

KeyZOid

Good suggestion but wrong. If that was still an active crime scene there would have been officers outside standing guard to make sure no-one will/can go inside. BTW: Retired SAPD.

Movie Medic

I don't doubt that your former SAPD had a particular procedure, but not all police departments follow the same procedures and there are often gaps between theory and practice. Furthermore, many law enforcement agencies make a distinction between "outer perimeter" and "inner perimeter." The inner perimeter (typically where physical evidence has been located) may be taped off with additional yellow tape, but the trend has been toward using red tape to make it more distinguishable from the yellow.

KeyZOid

I don't know where you are getting your information but I also don't know what every agency use in the United States. From those I have seen (26yrs with the SAPD) I have only seen black on yellow. Red on white or blue on white is usually European. Like you said: "many law enforcement agencies", well we didn't and that is what I am basing my experience and expertise on. We only use 1 outer perimeter barrier that was manned by officers and they checked everyone before going inside the perimeter.

The Marksman (2021)

Factual error: Jim is a former Marine and would never "chicken wing" the holding of that rifle the way he did. Even if that's the way he was taught back in?, over the years he would have learned and adapted the correct stance. (00:04:29)

Movie Medic

Factual error: Operators do NOT leave their dead in the field. John made the comment that 1 of his men were killed, but they did not bring his body out. (00:07:00)

Wrath of Man (2021)

Factual error: When "H" is shooting at the target, the paper holes are wrong. Bullets make clean precise holes on paper targets. (00:08:20)

Nobody (2021)

Factual error: Neighbor states: '72 Challenger, 4.9-liter, V8. The '72 Challenger came with a 3.7-liter slant-6, 5.2 and 5.6-liter V8. (00:11:30)

Suggested correction: Sounds like the neighbor is mistaken, which would just be a character mistake. Remember, the car wasn't his. He had just inherited it, recently as Hutch points out. He admittedly didn't even know the correct 0 to 60 time.

Mortal Kombat (2021)

Factual error: When Jax's SUV is hit by ice it punctures the body but the windows remain intact. (00:21:26)

Movie Medic

Suggested correction: I didn't see any ice puncture the body, certainly not any that would break any window. Later you see dents in the hood, but that doesn't mean the windows should be broken. I've had severe hail damage in real life where the body of the car was dented without any windows being cracked.

Bishop73

At 22:54 you will see multiple dents into the hood up to about an 1-2" deep. At 27:35 you will see multiple dents so deep that the paint is gone and the bare body is showing. Sorry, at that force the windows would at least cracked if not more.

Movie Medic

The glass used in car windshields is about a quarter inch thick, seven times thicker than the sheet metal used in body panels. It is also about five times stronger. It wouldn't necessarily break or crack.

LorgSkyegon

Well you have your view and I have mine. Cheers mate.

Revealing mistake: Steve's and Diana's Peugeot (2300 lbs) gets sideswiped by a Fahd APC (11.6 tons) but has no damage to its rear quarter panel. (01:20:50 - 01:25:20)

Suggested correction: If you're talking about the couple that robbed him, Hutch never kicked any door open. The couple lives in an enclosed apartment building and when he leaves, he goes to open their front door (which would lead to a hallway). When the shot changes, he's now exiting the apartment building itself (which leads to the outside). So it's a different door.

Boss Level (2020)

Factual error: The pilot is flying from the left-hand seat. Helos are flown from the right side. (01:23:00 - 01:25:00)

Movie Medic

Deliberate mistake: Denzel Washington never wears a vest (at least during the previews). All deputies are mandated to wear at least a level II vest (most will buy a higher protection vest) whenever performing Sheriff duties. Plus his duty shirt is just plain sloppy looking, way too big for him.

Movie Medic

Factual error: On the sniper range in a close up of Chavez's finger going on to the trigger, his placement is completely wrong. He's wrapped his finger around the trigger instead of using only the pad.

Movie Medic

Factual error: On the Sniper range the reticle used in Chavez's weapon is completely wrong. It would have mil-dots on both the vertical and horizontal lines.
