Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Corrected entry: When Cruise takes off in the Darkstar plane, he launches at the end of a runway that for some reason has a guard shack on it.

Movie Medic

Correction: How is this a mistake? The guard shack is not "on" the runway. It is along the access road at the gate of the perimeter fence. Maverick goes through that same gate, and past that same guard shack, when he enters the base.

You can look at any airfield (military) there is no guard shack or entrance that close to a runway especially if it's for a secret project like the Aurora.

Movie Medic

Correction: These scenes were entirely intentional and reinforce the essential theme of the movie. The titular character is in fact a "maverick" who disregards the rules when it suits him - and usually gets away with it.

Works for me. I was just making the statement from a legal aspect. :).

Movie Medic

Corrected entry: The original book takes place roughly near the end of Vietnam and In 2016, women were officially welcome to join military special forces. So, it makes sense that one might wonder if there are any female Navy SEALs currently serving. Well, the short answer is no, but it's not for a lack of trying. In simple terms, no female has been able to successfully complete Navy SEAL training yet.

Movie Medic

Correction: At best this is trivia. Just because in real life no woman has yet qualified to be a SEAL doesn't mean a fictional character can't - it's certainly allowed for any woman who meets the criteria. Since this film isn't set during Vietnam, there's nothing stopping Greer from being a SEAL.

Bishop73

Correction: The U.S. Navy does not have any women in the Navy Seal ranks, however one did pass the Navy Seal Officer training Course. My source is here... https://soaa.org/first-female-navy-seal/.

This was the 2-week program (pre-selection) and not the 24-week program required to complete SEAL training.

Bishop73

Navy Sea, Air, Land (SEAL) training is approximately 71 weeks from entry into Navy Recruit Training (8 weeks), completion of Naval Special Warfare Preparatory School (8 weeks), Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training (24 weeks), Navy Special Warfare Parachute Course (5 weeks), and SEAL Qualification Training (26 weeks), for a grand total of a little over 16 months of training to earn the Special Warfare insignia (SEAL "Trident").

Movie Medic

Correction: It is entirely possible to utilise a US helicopter in other countries, as evidenced by the fact this movie was filmed in Europe, but features an American helicopter.

Corrected entry: Calvin throws the weapon at Phil because it won't fire and he catches it. Phil drops the mag and inserts a new mag and racks it. You can see and hear the last round fall from the weapon. (01:33:00)

Movie Medic

Correction: So how exactly is this a mistake? The round was jammed, Phil cleared the stuck round. No mistake.

Den of Thieves (2018)

Corrected entry: During the 1st armored truck hijack they rip out part of the front windshield, also taking out the mirror on the front right fender. While driving the truck to the hideout you see both windshields intact, and the mirror is back on. (00:03:10 - 00:05:55)

Movie Medic

Correction: I watched every shot of the truck closely and not once is it shown to have the window back intact after it's pulled out.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: Lt. Whitmore fires 2 rounds at an alien fighter before her weapon locks back in the empty position. In her next shot the weapon is in the fire position. (01:47:20)

Movie Medic

Correction: There was plenty of time for her to release the slide forwards.
