Continuity mistake: The Bird of Prey is the one captured by Kirk's crew in ST III. That ship's bridge showed Klingon Cmdr Kruge in his elevated command chair with his helmsmen arrayed circularly below him, and nothing else. ST IV has this same ship; however, the bridge now resembles The Enterprise layout with Kirk's command chair behind Sulu and Chekov at their rectangular helm, with Spock, Scotty, and Uhura at their usual positions.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

Suggested correction: According to the captain's log at the beginning, they have been on Vulcan for 3 months. As they prepare to depart, we see several Vulcan technicians moving equipment in and around the ship. It's quite conceivable that the bridge was reconfigured according to the crew's specifications to facilitate their use of the ship. This may seem a bit excessive, as the remodel includes the door onto the bridge, and the frame of the door, and possibly most of the rest of the ship. But it's not outside the realm of possibility. The real mistake, though, is why they would go to the effort of installing new workstations on the Klingon bridge and marking them with Klingon labels, instead of standard Federation text. Interestingly, though, the "Starfleet" style bridge layout of the Klingon ship is being used by the Klingons on the Bird of Prey in Star Trek V.

Continuity mistake: In the Kobayashi Maru, Dr.McCoy is knocked to the deck unconscious, his head on a support; next shot shows McCoy's head lying on Sulu's leg; next shot shows McCoy's head back on the bare deck.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
Continuity mistake: The Apes cross the timber-pile beaver dam en route to the hydro-station. On their approach, the upstream canyon is shown to have a low water level. As they cross, the water is spilling through that dam.

Suggested correction: Water is flowing away from the dam, so that is the exit side and the level would be dictated by the flow through and over the dam.

Continuity mistake: During the opening credits, Kate leaves the Lake House via the kitchen, where we see the indoor tree is branches only-no leaves. Then from her car she looks back to the house, where we now see that tree is covered in orange leaves.

Continuity mistake: Elvis is water skiing with Shelley Fabares, who has long hair in her closeups; which then inter-cut with distance shots of 'her' with short hair.

Continuity mistake: The barn-door scene: Mac's drinking from a beer bottle when Susan backs into him to tell him how to braid her hair. He puts both hands upon her hair. The camera pans back showing them and there's no sign of the beer bottle he's just held.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014)
Continuity mistake: At the Dam Hydro Plant Caesar throws Koba on his back and pummels him. Then they roll once to the right, which now puts Koba on top of Caesar. Yet a quick-cut to their faces shows they kept Caesar on top, still pummeling Koba.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)
Continuity mistake: In the scene with Kirk and Spock walking the marina green under the Golden Gate Bridge, the leading shot shows blue sky. As the camera changes angles, the background changes to completely fogged in. Not shot on the same day.
