Other mistake: Right at the end of the movie Melvin and Carol walk by a bakery. Suddenly the lights go on showing staff at work like sweeping the floor, indicating that they must have been doing this in the dark. (02:07:55)

Father's Day (1997)

Other mistake: When Dale and Jack talk at the hospital about Scott's broken arm the subtitles are misspelled - they read "the doctor says it's a simple brake". (00:58:40)

The Sicilian (1987)

Other mistake: It certainly adds very dramatic touch but that a police squad on motorbikes driving by a house makes the cups shake in the saucers is a bit over the top. (02:02:35)

Far from Heaven (2002)

Other mistake: Raymond mentions his shop 'down on Hawthorn' to Cathy. The German subtitles translate into 'down in Hawthorn', as if Hawthorn were a different town. (00:21:00)

Far from Heaven (2002)

Other mistake: When Frank and Cathy talk about his homosexuality he says "I know it's a sickness". The German subtitles read "Schwäche" ("weakness") which is not just a bad but a wrong translation considering the perception of homosexuality in the fifties. (00:29:50)

Life is Beautiful (1997)

Other mistake: When Guido drops Dora at home after he had "kidnapped" her from the opera the rain has stopped. She mentions his wet hat, he takes it off and puts it back on, and when he bends forward a substantial trickle comes running off the brim. There should be no water left (if any) after he had taken the hat off. (00:38:45)

Life is Beautiful (1997)

Other mistake: When Giosuè discovers the German boy in the metal box Guido says that his name is Schwarz (Black). The German subtitles translate the name as Schwanz (Tail or - rather - Dick), and that's how both Guido and Giosuè refer to the boy later. Even if the different naming later was intended the first subtitling was too anticipatory. (01:33:50 - 01:45:50)

Other mistake: When Ruben tries to speak to Amelia over the phone and leaves his number he gives his extension 117 (in the Spanish version and all subtitles), but in the English dubbed version he says 116. (00:17:45)

Punch-Drunk Love (2002)

Other mistake: Barry tells the phone sex lady that she sounds very personable. The German subtitles translate personable with "vorstellbar" (imaginable). (00:26:55)

Anger Management (2003)

Other mistake: In the scene after Dave throws a calculator at a colleague there is a very weird 3-second establishing shot of his apartment building. In this short span shadows fall over the building twice, and it changes between fully lit and fully in the dark twice. In the end there is the silhouette of some equipment covering the lower third of the screen. (01:11:30)

Other mistake: At the beginning of the movie Mr. Hundert asks Martin Blythe to read the plaque with Shutruk-Nahunte's, King of Ansham and Susa, self-adulation. For some unexplained reason Martin skips the two passages referring to Shutruk's god Inshushinak. At the end of the movie his son does the same. (00:09:10 - 01:40:25)

Other mistake: When Sedgewick is asked to complete the writing on the blackboard by adding what Octavian was named he guesses 'Emperor'. Mr. Hundert agrees, however, later we see that Sedgewick has written 'Augustus', although we neither see him writing nor is this name mentioned by anybody, and Sedgewick himself doesn't have any clue. Titanic (1997)

Other mistake: When Jack draws Rose the hand that is shown in close-up is much too old to be his. [It's James Cameron's hand - still a mistake, but there's why.] (01:23:40)

Michael Collins (1996)

Other mistake: When Kitty reads Michael's letter from England to Harry, there's some strange smoke arising from behind their chairs. (01:19:40)

Michael Collins (1996)

Other mistake: After the attack on the police station we see a train passing by in front of the fire. The shiny train reflects the flames in a way that could only be caused by another fire for which there is no evidence. (00:16:20)

Philadelphia (1993)

Other mistake: In the library Joe quotes from a law book: "...the prejudice surrounding AIDS exacts a social death which precedes the physical one...". The subtitles read: "...which proceeds the physical one...", which is grammar- and otherwise wrong. (00:37:50)

Homer & Eddie (1989)

Other mistake: Eddie describes her brain tumor as inoperable because her brain wraps itself around it like jellyfish. The German subtitles translate 'jellyfish' into 'eel in jelly'. (00:37:20)

Homer & Eddie (1989)

Other mistake: When Eddie does her first liquor store robbery in Wady she shoots at the cashier because he looks at the gun that's placed under the cash register. We get the impression that she spots the gun too, but she doesn't bend over the counter enough to be able to see it. (00:30:35)
