The Expendables 2 (2012)

Question: When Maggie asks Barney if he still thinks about Billy after his death, he says "We keep it light until we have to get dark. Then we go pitch black." What exactly does Barney mean by this?

Answer: "We keep it light" refers to their mood. They joke around and tease each other and have fun. "Till we go dark" is when they get serious for killing. "We go pitch black." Meaning as dark and brutal killing machines as possible.

Quantom X

Answer: There's never a point during their time on that planet that depicts their he ever can't. He starts out hiding in Padme's ship and waiting for the opportunity to show himself. Shortly after they fight and ends when Obi-Wan leaves Anakin for dead and leaves. There's never a point that he can't sense him.

Quantom X

Question: I'm confused. Palpatine wanted to use Queen Amidala to get himself voted as chancellor so he could have control over the republic. Why did he send Darth Maul after the Queen's ship when it escaped if he needed the Queen alive?

Answer: The entire time Palpatine is bitching to Viceroy Gunray that he needs the Queen to sign the treaty to make the blockade and invasion legal. He didn't send Darth Maul to kill Amidala, he sent him to capture her and to deal with her Jedi escort.

Face/Off (1997)

Question: Why did Troy shoot Archer's kid again? I just watched the movie for the first time from start to finish so I really didn't get that part.

Answer: Michael wasn't the target. Caster was trying to shoot Sean, but the bullet went through him into Michel. It was collateral damage.

The Sixth Sense (1999)

Question: When Bruce Willis is shot, how come there's lots of blood on the exit wound but absolutely no blood on the entrance wound?

Answer: The exit wound of a bullet is always much bigger than the entrance wound. Because as the bullet goes through the body, it pushes more and more flesh and body with it tearing a larger and larger hole as it passes through. So a bullet goes in, but bullet and lots of flesh and other bodily parts come out making a large exit wound. As of such blood more readily flows from the larger hole that the tighter entrance wound. Plus it could also be from where the bullet hit. The exit wound may be close to an artery that pushes blood out faster and maybe the entrance wound was not close to any large veins.

Question: What happened to the old man when he drank the soda that had the Hulk's blood in it?

Answer: Banner's blood has gamma radiation poisoning. To anybody but Banner, the amount is lethal, but due to his biology it does not kill him. But there is enough there that even that small bit of blood that wound up in Stan Lee's bottle was enough to make him very sick with gamma radiation poisoning, so he was taken to the hospital for treatment. His condition was reported at the hospital, which is why General Ross and his crew were alerted to it and were able to find Banner. But Stan Lee was taken to the hospital. What happened to him after that is not revealed in the movie.

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)

Question: When Daniel learns that Stu is allergic to pepper he sneaks into the kitchen and spikes his food. Later when Stu starts choking Daniel seems surprised. What did he think was going to happen?

Answer: Well when someone's allergies act up, typically people associate that with sneezing and coughing, etc. Daniel didn't think there'd be a much more serious reaction.

Quantom X

Answer: Likely especially since Daniel was drunk, he didn't think it through, and the fact that Stu could die from his "prank."

Answer: He acts surprised so that everyone thinks he wasn't in on it, and he is just another person scared for Stu. If he didn't have a surprised face, or just a straight face, the gig would've been easier to notice.

Answer: Maybe just faking it as Mrs. Doubtfire to avoid being caught smiling to himself?

Lockout (2012)

Question: The movie ends without revealing what was the content of the memory card Snow found in the lighter. Does the movie tells it to us in some way?

Sgt_Malarkey

Chosen answer: Not really. Not exactly what it was. Just that it was secrets that he was trying to keep safe from the wrong hands. Most likely government secrets.

The Terminator (1984)

Question: Why is the Terminator able to talk when he looks like a human but doesn't talk when he doesn't have the living tissue on?

EmilBlonsky

Chosen answer: It's not that he could not talk, but perhaps he just had nothing to say. Once his skin burns off, he was still in pursuit mode to terminate his target. Before the skin burned off and he was chasing them in that scene, he wasn't saying anything either. And it's also logical to say that the wreck and gas tanker exploding, which caused his skin to burn off, likely could have damages internal components of the terminator by impact force as well as the extreme heat. So him not talking was either he didn't have anything to say, his voice generator was broken, or both.

Quantom X

Answer: Think about what produces sound coming from human mouth: air directed through the tissues of the neck and mouth, moving vocal cords in waves. After being burned, there is no tissue which can create the waves when being moved.

Question: Now that JL: War has been released, what is the meaning of the teaser at the end of Flashpoint? It hints at the invasion by Darkseid, however, in JL: War none of the superheroes have met and Cyborg had only just been created. Did the events of JL: War happen before Flashpoint, therefore, rendering the teaser moot? This is concerning over future animated DC film teasers (i.e. JL: War teasing Throne of Atlantis) and how much should be considered accurate, time-wise.

Answer: Flashpoint Paradox is supposed to be the story of why the New 52 universe came to be. The Flash did fix what he changed, but that did cause other changes and still created a new time line. Flashpoint Paradox and JL War are not in the same continuity. But one does INDIRECTLY cause the other. Though that is more the case with the comics, and not so much for the movies, as there are differences in the adaptations. The teaser at the end of Flashpoint was more or less just teasing DC's next film to come and not necessarily a sequel. Throne of Atlantis is a direct sequel to War though.

I Am Legend (2007)

Question: How did Will Smith hook up the radio? Did he use electricity? He can't have used a generator, that would have created too much noise. Also why is he on a dock? Wouldn't a higher place be more suitable? Is it just for effect?

Sarah Hicks

Chosen answer: He's been in New York for a few years now since the break out, ample time to scavenge any radio broadcast stations for equipment and probably cannibalize them at his home. That or just set up a power source at a radio station and set it to broadcast. The details are not shown in the movie. And the dock is the most logical place for people to come to given the safety of the sea, as well as many ships were loaded with survivors that were to stay out for a while and then return. Likely to come to the docks. Or anybody else that was traveling across the nation might avoid a land route as it's safer to go by boat on water. And don't forget this is New York, most of the city is surrounded by water anyway.

The Flintstones (1994)

Question: On Fred's first day of his new promotion, he says "I'm only one man, Barney." To which Barney responds."Not from the back" and they both laugh. Could someone please explain this gag to me. I have tried for years to understand it, with no luck.

Gavin Jackson

Chosen answer: He means Fred is fat. That from behind, he looks big enough to be two or more people.

Quantom X

Chosen answer: Because this leads to them being attached to someone. A Jedi is supposed to be selfless, put others before themselves, and act on the behalf of maintaining the order and balance of things. A Jedi must be willing to throw themselves in harm's way for the betterment of the galaxy and must act in a way not thinking of him or herself. If a Jedi is married and or has children, they suddenly will have other priorities. He or she may be reluctant to act in a dangerous situation in fear of death, and leaving behind loved ones. Or as is very likely the case, enemies of the Jedi getting a hold of the Jedi's family and using them against them.

Quantom X

Chosen answer: Because in Episode I, she was the Queen of Naboo. Viceroy Gunray had blockaded the planet with a trade boycott and then tried to take over the planet at the order of the Sith Lord Sidious. But he failed, her forces prevailing and destroying his droid army and capturing him. So in the second movie, which takes place 10 years later, he wants revenge on her for his failure, blaming her.

Armageddon (1998)

Question: How did they change the Freedom's landing gear from skids to wheels after taking off from the asteroid and landing on Earth?

Answer: They probably had two different sets of landing gear to fit the terrain they would land on. It would have to be withdrawn into the body of the aircraft so could have been changed from inside.

Lockout (2012)

Question: When Hydell takes Hock's gun and the shooting starts, what causes the explosion? (00:16:55)

Quantom X

Chosen answer: They are in a space station prison. Most likely the bullet from the gun hit an oxygen tank or line and caused a spark. Pure oxygen is highly explosive.
