Enigma (2001)

Corrected entry: When the car chase starts, the black police car is a Wolseley. It crashes and is seen again as a Wolseley but when it arrives at the barn it is a Rover.

Correction: The car that arrives at the barn is not the Police car, it is the Security Agent's car - it doesn't have the Police sign on the roof. The Police arrive afterward when the search begins.

Blackadder (1986)

Season 2 generally

Corrected entry: The episode "Bells" and the episode "Head" appear to be inversed in their order - Lord Percy has a beard at the beginning of "Bells," and shaves it off. However, in "Head," he's got it back. In all of the other episodes, he has no beard. Also, the song at the end of "Head" mentions Lord Blackadder's origins (it mentions Edmund's great-grandfather), which makes it more a follow-on from the 1st series.

Correction: Very much your opinion though. The episodes do not necessarily follow directly on from one another (remember, due to the later episode Potato, the beginning and end of the series are separated by several years), giving a fashion follower like Lord Percy plenty of time to grow a beard and shave it off again. These episodes have not been re-ordered on the subsequent DVD releases, or in the book 'Blackadder: The Whole Damn Dynasty' (written by the show's writers Richard Curtis, Ben Elton and John Lloyd), as they surely would have had it been a broadcast error. It must therefore be assumed to be intentional on the part of the makers and not a mistake. Equally, the song only mentions Edmund's ancestor because it fits vaguely in with the idea of Blackadder achieving a little bit of power again, and would have fitted anywhere in the series.

Gilmore Girls (2000)

Correction: TV time and Real Life time aren't the same thing though. Unless the date is specifically stated by a character, the date a programme airs has no relation to the date the action takes place. So in Stars Hollow it is already a time when Real World Denver is showing.

Doctor Who (2005)

Rise of the Cybermen (1) - S2-E8

Corrected entry: When Rose's phone first connects to the Cybus network on the parallel Earth, the first thing that shows on the phone is a news broadcast, yet the bar at the top of the phone shows the filename "welcome.jpg". Jpeg is a static image format.

Correction: That's true in this universe, but they're on an alternate Earth and things are subtly different - Rose's father is alive, people refer to things differently, etc.

Blackadder (1986)

Money - S2-E4

Corrected entry: When Edmund realises he can't pay the bishop his debt and returns home after giving his £85 to the queen from losing his bet. Baldrick gives Edmund a drink which spills over his right leg, which no one seems to notice.

Correction: Er, so? How is spilling your drink a mistake? Edmund's got bigger things to worry about - his impending death for one - than a bit of damp on his leg.

Corrected entry: After Joel puts the gift on the stair banister, the bow keeps moving throughout the scene. When Carrie goes upstairs, the bow is on the far side from Joel. When she comes back down, the bow is now on the close side to Joel. This continues back and forth several times.

Correction: This takes place inside Joel's mind. All sorts of weird things happen there, so the bow on the parcel can do a little dance if it wants to.

Batman Returns (1992)

Corrected entry: When Catwoman breaks into the department store she beheads mannequins by snapping her whip at them. Unfortunately, her whip never even touches the mannequins - if you freeze frame the DVD you can even see that she misses by a couple feet.

Correction: Not true, Michelle Pfeiffer actually did this stunt - all four heads in the first take. There is behind the scenes footage of her performing it on the new special edition DVD. The reason it doesn't looks that way on your DVD is that the tip of the whip is travelling much too fast for the film frames to pick it up (parts of the whip can exceed the speed of sound. See True Cause of Whip's Crack Uncovered for details).

Batman (1989)

Corrected entry: When the Joker is talking to the mob boss and takes out his handkerchief, he wipes some makeup off his head. Look at the white spot he allegedly uncovers.....it is wet and you can tell it is placed on top of his skin. The white came from the handkerchief.

Correction: No, it didn't. The makeup department actually figured out a complicated way of allowing Joker to do this. They used a special 'non-stick' silicon based white layer that flesh tone would wipe off easily - that's why Joker looks shiny as he walks around the room: the flesh layer is not dry. Check out the documentary 'from Jack to the Joker' on the new special edition Batman DVD for more.

Blackadder (1986)

Plan E: General Hospital - S4-E5

Corrected entry: Black Adder says that there are four verses to "God Save the King." There are actually five, and technically there are six. However, the final verse is very anti-Scottish (added after the Jacobite rebellion of 1745-46), and is very rarely seen and even more rarely performed.

David Mercier

Correction: While this may be true, Blackadder is merely trying to confuse Darling into confessing he's a German spy.

Spaced (1999)

Leaves - S2-E7

Corrected entry: Sophie says she's leaving to go to Seattle. It's about 7 pm. Tim asks her when she's leaving and she says 12 the next day, Tim then asks her what she is going to do for the next 13 hours. 13 hours after 7pm is 8am, not 12 noon.

Kara

Correction: Yes, it is - then at 8 she'll leave for the airport. Depending on where she's flying from it could easily take 4 hours to travel and check in for the flight.

Pleasantville (1998)

Corrected entry: You can't make clean holes when throwing stones at glass without shattering the whole pane, as it happened to Bill's front window. (01:26:30)

NancyFelix

Correction: It depends what kind of glass the window is made of, also there is a considerable amount of paint on the window which would help stop cracks from spreading.

Almost Famous (2000)

Corrected entry: When they are walking through the airport in silence after the scare on the plane the first shot shows William from the front with everyone passing on his right, but in the very next shot showing his back, Leslie walks around the other side of him.

Correction: William is near the back on the left until he stops to throw up, he then runs to catch up the group and moves in behind Dick and Jeff over on the right hand side - you can see Leslie is now on his left a little way behind. As they all pass William, the people on the right of the corridor pass on the right and Leslie passes to his left. There is no mistake.

Almost Famous (2000)

Corrected entry: In the scene when they are on the plane and almost crash and everyone is confessing, Leslie is sitting next to Russell, however, when the camera goes to Jeffrey you can see Leslie's sleeve and wine glass sitting behind Russell and across from Jeffrey. When they show Russell, another band member is sitting in front of Jeffrey. This goes back and forth like this for the whole scene.

Correction: The passangers are always in the same place, as follows... Front to back, on the left, Ed (drums), Dick, Lesley and Jeff. On the right, Dennis Hope, Larry (bass), Russell and William. Shots down the plane are taken from both ends (some shots have the cockpit door in the background, some have a shirt hanging)and it can be confusing with all the movements, but they never switch seats.

The West Wing (1999)

Correction: Hardly a mistake though. You never see the 'Matthew Perry' that Donna leaves to speak to, it might be a different person. Even if it is the same person, Joe Quincy just happens to look a bit like Matthew Perry.

24 (2001)

Correction: His watch isn't 9 minutes slow, it's 9 minutes fast. Many people set their watches slightly fast to help them arrive on time, yet they know to subtract the extra minutes when telling someone else the time. Jack may set his about 10 mins fast, and as he wasn't on active duty at the beginning of the day, wasn't bothered about synchronising his watch too accurately.

umathegreatstationarybear

Corrected entry: When Brian is taken to see Pontius Pilate, the centurian says "Only one survivor sir". Well, that's not true seeing as Loretta and Francis were down in the sewer when everyone except Brian were killed. And in the next scene involving the PFJ, Loretta and Francis are alive. (00:38:26)

Correction: The centurian could not know about Loretta and Francis if they were still in the sewer. By the time the soldiers searched it, they would have been long gone. Therefore, from his point of view, what he says is correct.
