Girls Vs. Suits - S5-E12

Corrected entry: Cindy's claim that there is a policy against faculty and students dating is right, but according to the website of Columbia university it doesn't apply to a relationship between Ted and her. Excerpt from the policy on consensual romantic and sexual relationships between Faculty and Students of Columbia University: "It is the policy of the University that no faculty member shall have a consensual romantic or sexual relationship with a student over whom he or she exercises academic or professional authority."

Correction: Ted actually points out to Cindy that because he is not her professor there's no real issue, but Cindy still shoots him down. Presumably it's because Cindy is actually attracted to women (which the audience won't find out until later), but can't actually admit it to herself and instead looks for excuses to sabotage her relationships with men.

Swimfan (2002)

Corrected entry: Madison hits Amy with a truck while Amy is driving a scooter, yet in the hospital, Amy only has a few scratches and bruises. If someone was hit by a large truck while riding a small scooter, they would have gotten much more extensive injuries, if not been killed from the sheer force of impact.

Correction: We are never really told the extent of Amy's injuries; they're obviously bad enough that Amy needs to stay in the hospital, certainly more than just "a couple of scratches and bruises." The only reason Amy leaves the hospital is because Madison kidnapped her from it.

No, Madison kidnaps her from Ben's house.

Inside Man (2006)

Corrected entry: The police conclude as that no money was taken, "no crime was committed." However, armed robbery is still a crime, even if nothing is taken. So is taking hostages and controlling the building illegally for several hours, as well as other subtle misuses of bank property. "No crime was committed" is an unrealistic and unprofessional description of what happened.

Correction: They never say "no crime was committed." The Captain tells Frazier, "You've got no robbery, " meaning nothing of value was actually stolen (the diamonds were, but nobody knows that except Case, and he's obviously not going to tell anyone), "you've got no suspects. Nobody's breathing down my neck for answers, I'm not gonna breathe down yours." In other words, because no money was actually taken and no one was physically injured, the politicians don't care about solving the crime, so they aren't pressuring the captain for answers.

Do you forget about that one wisecrack accountant, Peter Hammond, who tried to hide his phone and ended up getting an unholy beatdown for his trouble? He was all bruised up, and even one fellow hostage said, 'Can't you see they f***** him up?' Looks like physically injured to me.

Chinatown (1974)

Corrected entry: In the early scene where Jake is photographing the Mulwrays from a roof, the reflection of the two Mulwrays in the camera lens is right-side-up, but in reality the image reflected in the lens would be upside-down as seen from the audience POV.

Correction: Not true, the image only gets inverted once it passes through the lens. Looking at the reflection of the subject on the outside of the lens, it would not be turned upside-down.

Legally Blonde (2001)

Corrected entry: When Enrique describes Chuck as "just a friend," Chuck calls him a bitch and storms out of the courtroom - yet hasn't been the least bit bothered by Enrique's testimony that he's been having an affair with Brooke.

Correction: Except that Enrique wasn't having an affair with Brooke, it was all a lie. Presumably, Enrique told Chuck about this beforehand, and that is why Chuck is not upset by it. However, once Enrique belittles his relationship with Chuck, only then does Chuck become upset.

Corrected entry: When Adam is calling every girl in his phone, he gets visibly drunk. The next morning Emma says he drove over there, which wouldn't make sense because the night before he passed out on the sidewalk and could barley walk.

Correction: Despite it being illegal, some people do make the irresponsible decision to drive while intoxicated. Even though it is a poor character choice, this is not a movie mistake.

Corrected entry: Why are there so many people waiting at that one bathroom where Ace entered at Camp's mansion? Seeing as how he is extremely rich, he must have many other bathrooms in his giant house.

Correction: Many people only invite party guests to certain areas of their homes, because they consider other parts to be too intimate to show casual acquaintances. So even if he did have more bathrooms, it is likely that they would be in areas of his home where guests were not invited.

Corrected entry: When Harry and Hermione watched their past selves from the wood, there were some scenes where events happened too fast in second scenario. They see Lupin say "Immobilis" and the Whomping Willow stops moving, then just a few seconds later they see Snape coming. But the first time, Snape arrives in the Shrieking Shack few minutes after Lupin. Also Lupin transforming into a werewolf is too short in the second scenario. Hermione howls a few seconds after he changes, but the first time, Lupin transforms, then he fights with Sirius for about a minute.

Feather

Correction: The second time we see all these scenes, i.e. when Harry and Hermione have gone back in time, we aren't seeing them in real time. The director has displayed the scenes differently to the audience, in order to underscore that they are now shown from a different perspective (time-traveling Harry and Hermione's). This was an artistic choice by the filmmaker, not a film mistake.

Corrected entry: Why didn't Kevin just throw the camera down to Harry and Marv? He had all the pictures of them robbing the toy store, he couldn't lose anything, and the two thieves would then stop chasing him, as Harry said.

Correction: This is, at best, a question of character motivation. Perhaps Kevin thought that the two thieves (who he knows to be repeat criminals) were lying and would continue to chase him after he gave up the camera. Or maybe he thought that they were seeking revenge for what he did to them last time, so giving up the camera would not matter. Also, there was no way that Kevin was going to let them get away with the money, so even if they HAD kept their word, they would've been long gone by the time Kevin showed the photos to the police. One way or another, this cannot possibly be considered a movie mistake.
