Who was the noted film director that was killed about 10-15 years ago when a large rock was thrown from a street overpass and smashed through his car windshield? He probably would have been in his 70s or 80s by now.

Holes (2003)
Question: I was just watching the film on the Disney Channel, I noticed that cuss words are cut out which makes perfect sense, but what doesn't is the drinking, shooting, the dead animal, the dead sheriff, and various other items that were kept in the film. Disney channel likes to keep as much violence and language as possible out of films shown on their channel, but why keep in the other stuff?
Answer: Disney doesn't specially edit any of the movies shown on their channels. They just rebroadcast the movie edited for "family" viewing.

I am trying to find the name of a film I saw a number of years ago. The film is about a step-father who is trying to bring his step-son home for Christmas. The only things I can remember is that it takes them ages due to mishaps etc. along the way, and the step-father wears a ring on his pinky finger which when he punches people (many references to it throughout the film) it leaves an imprint in their forehead. Any thoughts?
Chosen answer: Dutch. Ed O'Neill stars as the step-dad. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101786/.

The Game (1997)
Question: SPOILER: How did The Game managed to get Nicholas Jump right into the giant Mattress in the end?
Answer: One of the guys says, at the end, if he (Nicholas) didn't jump, it was his job to push him. It's just good luck he landed right in the correct spot - we can only assume that if he was going to jump in entirely the wrong place he would have been stopped.
Answer: On the roof there was a waist high rim too high to step up onto, but there was a portable step in just the right place to position Douglas exactly where he needed to jump off to hit the air bag perfectly.

Family Guy (1999)
Question: When Peter is lost in the woods and one of the trees is fallen over, another tree says "I'm playing the world's smallest violin." What does that mean?
Answer: It's one of those kid comebacks for someone complaining. Make the OK sign and rub your thumb and finger together. Then you say you are playing the world's smallest violin and it's playing My Heart Cries For You.

Numerous times mistakes have been corrected saying it is a character mistake, not a movie mistake. This has always confused me. The words performed by the actor are scripted by writers and scenes are filmed under the direction of its director. Since it is written in the script and accepted by the director and producer, how is this still a character mistake and not a movie mistake?
Chosen answer: In real life, people make mistakes. Just because someone in a movie says or does something wrong, it doesn't make it a mistake because it does happen in real life. A regular character in a movie stating that there are 268 bones in an adult human body could just be a way to show that character doesn't know what he/she is talking about and not really a mistake. A doctor making that same statement would be a mistake because the doctor SHOULD know better since it is his/her job.

I am after the name of a vampire film, probably from the 70's (it may be a Hammer film) - it involves a master swordsman vampire who died never having "met his match". The hero in the film is also a master swordsman and they meet in the end and the vampire is killed?
Answer: It seems to be "Captain Kronos - Vampire Hunter" 1974 and it is indeed an Hammer film. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Kronos_-_Vampire_Hunter http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071276/.

I am trying to find the name of a horror movie that came out in the late 70's or early 80's. All I can remember about the plot was there was a person killing people via the telephone. He would call them, the other person would hear rapid beeping, then the phone would explode in their ear, killing them.
Chosen answer: Cute name for the movie, "Murder By Phone", 1982. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081203/.

I'll try to be as detailed as possible. This is a late 70's, early 80's movie. Tenants at a high rise apartment building were being killed off 1 by 1. The police thought the killer was the night doorman whose name was Vincent, but it turned out to be the day doorman who was jealous of all the attention the night doorman was getting from all the tenants. The night doorman and his catatonic mother were the last victims before the police found out the truth. Also the night doorman had a rich female tenant who had a crush on him and was always trying to invite him up to her place for cake.

Home Improvement (1991)
Question: Was the actor who played Cal Boreland really Richard Karn's brother in real life?
Answer: No the guy sent in a picture of himself because he thought he looked like Al. So they brought him on the show as his brother.
Answer: According to imdb.com: Richard has only one sister. http://uk.imdb.com/name/nm0439781/bio.
Answer: It should also be noted, Richard Karn is his stage name as Karn is his middle name. His real name is Richard Wilson. Cal was played by Keith Lehman.
Siblings can have different last names. One might have a different father. Maybe one legally changed his name for some reason, or a man took his wife's last name (not as common, but it happens). Of course, these two actors are not actually related, but I just wanted to point this out.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Question: I've heard that you can see Prince Xizor on Coruscant somewhere in the movie. What scene is he in?
Answer: From Star Wars wiki: Xizor makes many cameo appearances during the podrace scene in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, as the micro-machine toy figurine of Xizor was used as a stand-in for members of the podrace crowd.[2] However, as this cameo is used only as background fill-ins, it may not be considered an actual appearance of the character proper. And under "appearances" he is listed as possible\debated for the film. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Prince_Xizor.

Answer: The Ratings Game. Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman just to name 2. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087979/.

Other than Family Guy, has there been any other TV show that has ever been canceled than brought back, either by popular demand or other reasons?
Chosen answer: There have been several. Buffy the Vampire slayer comes to mind. The network ended Buffy with season 5 with her death. Another network picked it up and had to bring her back to life at the start of season 6 and finally ending the entire series for good with season 7. Also Sliders.

This is very vague, but I once saw a cartoon - either a snippet of a 'loony toon' or a piece of another toon tv show - that involved two horses that fall in love. The male horse walks past the female and his heart pops out and starts beating wildly at the sight of her. I don't remember anything other than that. Anything would be of some help.
Answer: That is a standard scene for falling in love with cartoons. And since horses are very popular in cartoons too, it would be impossible to narrow this down to one cartoon.
Chosen answer: This is the only thing I found close: "November 19, 1998: Film director Alan Pakula (70) was killed while driving on the Long Island Expressway east of New York City. He lost control of his Volvo and crashed into a fence after a metal pipe crashed through his windshield. The pipe, which had been lying on the highway, was kicked up by another car. Pakula was taken to the North Shore Hospital in Plainview, New York, where he was pronounced dead. Pakula directed films such as Klute and All the President's Men." This site lists famous people that died in car accidents and that was the only director that died from something flying through his windshield. http://www.celebratetoday.com/autoceleb.html.
