Chosen answer: The tree root episode is season five, episode nine and is called Schizogeny. And the doll one sounds like it could be the very next episode (season five, episode 10) called Chinga.

Question: As Harry and Hermione are going back in time, after Ron has left the room, there is a part where it looks as though a number of people are unwrapping someone to the right of the screen. What is happening then?

Answer: Exactly what it looks like - a person is being unwrapped from full body bandages. It's a hospital ward and they are just showing things representative of Harry and Hermione going back in time. It's just supposed to be something that happened earlier that day that they are "passing" by.

wolfchild

I thought it was the cast being put on Ron's leg?

It's the moment someone is covered from head to torso in bandages.

Miss Congeniality (2000)

Question: In the scene where Hart finds out about the Citizen being caught, when she and Matthews are arguing, Matthews says ,"You're not the only one who lives his life for the job..." Clearly he says HIS, as though both him and Hart would fall under that category. Is this a mistake, or is it supposed to be there?

Answer: It is supposed to be there. There are numerous references to Matthews (and the other agents) simply referring to Hart as one of the guys or even just as a guy.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Question: When Marlin discovers Mr Ray has taken his class to the Dropoff, he says "why don't we just fry them up and serve them with chips". American "Chips" are not the same as British "Chips." Is this dialogue only in the UK video release that I have, and if so, what is in the US version?

Answer: Even though "chip" as french fries instead of crisps is not an "American" term, we still use it as a description for "fish and chips." There is actually a Fish and Chips stand about a mile from my house and my mom even worked at a fish and chips stand when she was in college. So, it says that on the American version of the DVD as well.

wolfchild

Answer: There's no reason one can't serve actual potato chips with a meal, loads of American restaurants do, some even go so far as to house-fry fresh ones instead of out of a bag.

dizzyd

It's just a saying as "chips" also refers to "fries." It's not technical.

Jurassic Park (1993)

Question: In the book Tim is older than Lex and is into computers. In the movie, Lex is older than Tim and is into computers. Why was this change made?

Answer: It was thought that in the book Tim got too much of the focus being the dinosaur and computer expert. So, they reversed the ages and gave Lex the computer skills and Tim kept his dinosaur knowledge so that they each played more equal parts in the movie.

wolfchild

Answer: Steven Spielberg explained that he met Joseph Mazzello (Tim) when he screen-tested for a role in Hook, but felt he was too young. Spielberg promised him they would work together on a future film so it was decided to swap Lex and Tim's ages so he could appear in the movie.

Question: Is Ninny Threadgood (Jessica Tandy) really Idgie? It seems so at the end, when Evelyn finds the honey at Ruth's grave. Both Ninny and Evelyn share a sly smile, but nothing is said for sure. Anyone know?

Ral0618

Chosen answer: No, Ninny is exactly who she says she is. It's clearer in the book because Ninny dies and Evelyn finds the honey and the note for Ruth when Evelyn goes to see Ninny's grave.

wolfchild

It's common for screenplays to take liberties from their source material. In the book they are two separate people but in the screenplay, they've changed it to make them the same person.

Answer: As in the book, they are separate people. Ninny introduced herself to Evelyn as Idgie's sister-in-law, that she was married to one of Idgie's brothers: Cleveland or Theo.

The Ring (2002)

Question: What is it that brings about a nosebleed? Rachael, Noah and Aidan all get them, but at times when they don't seem to be doing anything at all related to what the other characters were doing when they got theirs.

Answer: It's just a sign of the impending doom facing each of them.

wolfchild

Answer: It's when they have a physical interaction with Samara or the other 'entities' like the fly.

Answer: We can't be 100% sure of any answer until the movie actually comes out. All people know is that the new director has made some changes to the style of the movie and characters. Including, but not limited to a redesign of their uniforms, some hairstyles and apparently more time in muggle clothes.

The Ring (2002)

Question: What was the deal with all the horses drowning? Was it just because Samara was evil and she was causing it? What about the horse Rachel sees on the ship that freaks out? Is it scared of Rachel because she's been "infected" by the tape? She's already showed the tape to Noah, so she should be okay at that point, right?

Krista

Chosen answer: When Samara was sent to sleep in the barn the horses kept her up at night. Therefore they have ended being negatively affected by her and the video.

wolfchild

Answer: After Samara was released from Eola, she returned to the Morgan's house but was sent to sleep in the barn because Richard wanted to keep her as far as humanly possible from Anna who was suffering from horrible hallucinations caused by her. Since the horses kept her up at night, she drove them to suicide, but she had also told her doctor that her daddy loved the horses not her, so she probably drove them crazy out of childish jealousy as well. As for Rachel, she was affected by the curse and by Samara and as a result her presence drove the horse crazy.
