General questions

There's a movie that was most likely released in the later 90's about a woman whose daughter dies by falling out of the car. Later in the movie the woman sees a drawing at a school that looks just like her daughter's old drawings. Then, when she sees the girl who did the drawing, the girl looks just like her daughter. She follows the girl home and then finds that the girl's mother is her doppelganger or twin sister, I can't remember which. I do remember a man in the movie warning the woman never to come face to face with her doppelganger after explaining to her what a doppelganger was.

MissLynne

Chosen answer: This movie was called "The Lookalike" (TV 1990). She was rescued from a river after falling from a car on a bridge. Later as an adult she sees a child that resembles her deseased daughter. Turns out to be the daughter of her twin sister that is passing through town.

The End (2) - S6-E18

Question: OK, I am confused. I know the characters are really dead and they are in purgatory. But did they all really die in the plane crash and the events on the island was their purgatory or was their revealing that they were dead as a result of them dying on the island? If they did indeed die in the plane crash, where was Michael and Walt in the finale? If it was as a result of them dying on the island, then how did Kate, Hurley and Sawyer end up with the others in purgatory? I don't recall them dying on the island.

SAZOO1975

Chosen answer: No they did not all die in the plane crash. Everything that happened did happen... They all died... eventually. Their souls appear in 'purgatory' together and move on together. their 'lives' in purgatory was what they believed it to be. Time really has no meaning in 'purgatory', so they all appear to each other as remembered.

General questions

I am looking for the title of a movie I saw on the Lifetime channel within the last five years (but I'm not sure if it was made that recently). A dark-haired girl begins dating a boy, he gets her pregnant and takes her to some ranch/farm where the owners are planning to keep the baby. The place also has other pregnant girls. I think her name might have been Wendy, but I'm not sure. At one point, her mom visits the place and tries to convince her to come home. Her mom confesses that she once had a baby boy as a teenager and gave him up for adoption.

Answer: Her ex... who was not available since he was in love with another woman and not Mary.

Chosen answer: Q brought the Borg ship to the Alpha Quadrant. He used his powers to alert the Borg of the human existance. Once alerted it is the nature of the borg to persue assimilating other cultures.

Boobra

Q moved the ship to the delta quadrant, near a cube that was likely exploring for targets. The Borg ship never left the delta quadrant until Q gave the borg a reason to do so.

Question: What is the point of having different methods of firing the guns for ballistic analysis? They've got the one where they shoot into water, the one where they shoot it into a tub of rubber balls, and the one where they shoot it into some sort of Jell-o type material.

Answer: Different calliber guns fire at stronger trajectories. A smaller calibre gun will need less friction to stop it. The Jell is used for larger calibre guns.

Question: What did Ben Gates know about Mitch Wilkinson that made him know that Mitch "NEEDED" to find the City of Gold?

Answer: It wasn't that Mitch knew anything about him, just that like himself family history was very important to him. Mitch needed to find the city of gold to redeem his family name in that it was his family that was traterious in the past not Ben's.

Enough (2002)

Question: When Mitch and Robbie are talking about Slim in Robbie's office, Robbie mentions all the women that they've "pulled this on". What is the scam that they usually pull?

Answer: The scam is that one pretends to be interested in the girl while the other one calls him on a "bet" that he and another person made on how fast he could get the phone number, looking like the knight in shining armor saving the girl from being made a fool out of. In actuality he is part of the scam, in that she would fall for the second man.

Question: How does finding the treasure clear Thomas Gates of plotting Lincoln's death?

Blibbetyblip

Chosen answer: Because it verifies the story that the Gates family has passed down, that the pages were burned to protect the city of gold's location, not to hide his name as a plotter.

General questions

I'm looking for the name of a film I saw many years ago, late 80's or early 90's. It involved 2 cops, both martial arts experts, going undercover to infiltrate a bad guy's underworld. The underworld involves cage fighting with illegal betting. Once in the while there is a 'Fatal fight' where the loser dies. The bad guy realises they are cops and one of them has to fight the 'champion' in a fatal fight, and dies. In the fatal fight, there is a circle on the wall holding many weapons and one is selected randomly by a computer for the fighters to use. The rest of the film involves the other cop avenging his partners death and killing all the bad guys. Please help.

Answer: This sounds like Kickboxer (1989).

The Parent Trap (1998)

Question: How is it that both Annie and Hallie both have the same hobbies (fencing and poker and) like the same foods, such as oreos and peanut butter? They were raised apart from each other.

Stephen Edmonds 1

Answer: Adding on to Boobra's answer, there have been real-life cases of twins who were adopted separately and never met during their childhood, but liked the same things and made similar choices. Jim Lewis and Jim Springer found each other at age 39. They liked the same beer, cigarettes, cars, both enjoyed woodworking, and married women with the same names.

Chosen answer: Technically or at least genetically they are the same person. Being identical twins they have the exact genetic makeup. Being a twin myself I can attest to the fact that some of your likes and dislikes are genetic. You are predeterminded to like certain hobbies and sports, let's say, and liking the same food has to do with the development of the tastebuds and that doesn't matter where you live or with whom.

Pilot (2) - S1-E2

Question: We know that Cindy the flight attendant ends up with the "tailies." It took about a minute or two for the plane to break apart from the first time turbulence hit. The bathroom was near the front of the plane. We know this because when Charlie went with Jack and Kate to look for the cockpit, the bathroom was not very far away. How was she able to reach the back of the plane so quickly after pounding on the lavatory door when Charlie was snorting his heroine when the really bad turbulence hit?

Answer: She could have lost her balance and thrown to the floor when the plane was broken apart she was probably sucked into the tail.
