Jumper

Factual error: Shortly after David and Griffin jump to Japan, Griffin goes to a car dealership and takes a Mercedes. Griffin then drives on the right side of the street rather than on the left as he should in Japan.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where David jumps to a glacier and is hit head-on with a pick-up by Griffin, they then jump into the middle of a guerilla war. The pick-up crashes and a driver is seen at the wheel beside Griffin. The shot changes to wider and when Griffin is seen exiting the car, the driver has disappeared. (01:12:30)

Continuity mistake: When David is in Egypt when the other Jumper returns from swimming, David's shirt has drops of water. Later in one shot, the drops are there and suddenly they disappear.

David Rice: Who are these people?
Griffin: Paladins. Paladins kill jumpers. I kill paladins. Class dismissed.

Question: What game is Griffin playing when David goes to his 'lair' the second time? Just before David teleports there, Griffin is talking to a dead Paladin's body about the game he's playing and new moves. And then David sits in front of the TV to get his attention. You can't see the screen, but you can hear the game and it sounds like something that would be distinctive. What game is it?

Quantom X

Chosen answer: You see the screen for a second before David appears - the game Griffin is playing is Halo: Combat Evolved (the motion sensor HUD in the bottom left corner is quite distinctive).

Question: Why did some summaries for this movie (in newspapers, on websites, etc.) say that David goes looking for the man who killed his mother? In the movie, he seemed to believe that his mother left him and his father, and (if I remember correctly from the theater) didn't suspect that she was killed.

Answer: In the novel that this movie was based on, his mother was killed and David does go looking for the man who did it. Those doing the summaries are just confusing the two different versions.

Question: I was watching the movie and something occured to me: shouldn't Mary's daughter (the one who answered the door at the end) also be a jumper? I'm not going to ask about jumper genetics because I know that's not fair, but I was just curious. Thanks.

Brad

Chosen answer: It's certainly not out of the question. That being said, Sophie is only David's half-sister, as they have different fathers, so if the jumper traits came from David's father, or from some genetic combination of his parents, then Sophie would not share his abilities.
