Continuity mistake: When everyone is in the Library, you can see the matches in a cup on the left of the fireplace. When Professor Plum says, "Wait a minute, suppose that one of us is the murderer," you can also see that the matches are in a "V" shape. When Wadsworth walks towards them to pull the matches out, most of them are all leaning to the left side of the cup. As the movie goes on, when the cop gets locked up in the Library for the second time, the same amount of matches are in the holding cup as if Wadsworth did not pull them out and they are in a straight line. Revealing mistake: When the cook's body is lowered to the kitchen floor, you can see her move her outstretched arm closer to her head.
Trivia: Professor Plum reveals that he works for UNO, the United Nations Organization, in a branch called WHO, the World Health Organization. As such, he works for UNOWHO (You Know Who).
Trivia: Not a mistake, just a neat little fact. When the film was being shown at cinemas, only one ending was shown. Different venues had different endings.
Wadsworth: You see. It's just like the Mounties. We always get our man.
Mr. Green: Mrs. Peacock was a man?!
Wadsworth: The game's up, Scarlet. There are no more bullets left in that gun.
Miss Scarlet: Oh come on, you don't think I'm going to fall for that old trick.
Wadsworth: It's not a trick. There was one shot at Mr. Boddy in the study, two at the chandelier, two at the lounge door, and one at the singing telegram.
Miss Scarlet: That's not six.
Wadsworth: One plus two plus two plus one.
Miss Scarlet: Uh-uh. There was only one shot that got the chandelier, so that's one plus two plus ONE plus one.
Wadsworth: Even if you were right, that would be one plus one plus two plus one, not one plus two plus one plus one.
Miss Scarlet: Okay, fine. One plus two plus one...SHUT UP! Point is, there's one bullet left in this gun, and guess who's going to get it!
Wadsworth: I can explain everything...
Cop: You don't have to.
Wadsworth: I don't?
Cop: No, there's nothing illegal about any of this.
Wadsworth: Are you sure?
Cop: Of course, this is America.
Wadsworth: I see...
Cop: It's a free country, don't you know that?
Wadsworth: I didn't know it was THAT free.
Question: Are Colonel Mustard's parents dead or not? During the blackmail discussion scene in the study, Mustard says he lost his mummy and daddy in the war. Later, Mustard says Mr. Boddy threatened to send the pictures of him and Yvette in Flagrante Delicto to his parents.
Chosen answer: They're still alive. When he says it earlier, he's trying to explain away his money from black marketeering during the war.
Question: If Wadsworth threw away the key to the cupboard (as we saw), how could Col. Mustard open it to get the wrench to do away with the motorist?
Answer: As Wadsworth explained to everybody, when he saw the motorist at the door, he didn't throw the key away but put it back in his coat pocket. While everyone's attention was on the motorist, Col. Mustard took the key from Wadsworth pocket and replaced it with a different key.
Chosen answer: Tim Curry (as Wadsworth) states he knew about the secret passages because the house belongs to a friend of his. Tim Curry (as Mr. Boddy) says at the end of the movie that they "Could stack the bodies in the cellar and could all leave one by one." Which infers that Mr. Boddy has no intention of returning to the house. Either way, there is no definite way to tell who the house belongs to considering all the lying going on.
