Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery

Continuity mistake: This mistake takes place when Austin, Vanessa, and the guard are with the mutated sea bass. When Austin judo chops the tooth paste onto the guards face, the guard is wearing a helmet and half of it has toothpaste on the front. Then the camera does a close up on Austin. When it shows the guard again, he doesn't have his helmet on and half of his forehead has toothpaste instead of his helmet.

Continuity mistake: Watch the distance between Austin and Basil Exposition just as their first meeting comes to a close. It changes from far to near and back to far in the space of a couple of shots!

Continuity mistake: Near the end when Christian Slater comes back with the orange sherbert Austin has no gun, and then in the next shot Austin has a gun but no sherbert. [There are two versions of the film - a US, and non-US version. Christian Slater appears in the non-US version in a cameo role for a couple of lines.]

Continuity mistake: When the Vulcan drill is shown being rotated, first of all, it's being rotated in the wrong direction - in the direction that would make the drill face upward. Of course they could be planning to make a 360, but why? Also, if you look closely at the people below and around the drill, you'll notice that shot is in accelerated pace - everyone is moving really fast, like in old silent films. The guys in front of the drill are looking back and forth from their pads and the drill extremely fast. I guess it was done to show the drill rotation nicer.

Continuity mistake: At the end when they are trying to stop the drill from going into the earth, Austin runs into the room and starts firing his gun. Each time he fires the gun there is a flash. If you watch, you'll see he fires 3 times, but there are only 2 flashes.

Continuity mistake: When Austin hears footsteps approaching the penthouse, he rushes into a chair in the living room. As Alotta is standing in the doorway, Austin says, "You seem surprised to see me--" Where Austin's arm is up near his face. But when the camera zooms in at, "Miss Fagina," his arm is gone.

Continuity mistake: When Austin and Vanessa are riding the bus down the Vegas strip, the bus changes directions on the strip between shots.

Continuity mistake: In the bachelors' party, when the man takes the call his beer is a quarter facing the camera and when he comes back it's all the way facing the camera.

Continuity mistake: During Austin's dance with the fembots, one of them shows a spring popping out of the side of her head, while another shows her head spouting flames from the top. A few moments later, the heads start blowing up. The spring is miraculously gone, as well as the flames.

Continuity mistake: On Austin's jumbo jet, he attempts to get frisky with Vanessa and it messes up her hair. In the next shot she sits down and her hair is no longer messy.

Continuity mistake: At the beginning, after the street dance in London, Austin and Mrs. Kensington leave and the street is full of extras with a few of them chasing after Austin. In the next shot when they're driving, the extras have vanished and traffic appears out of nowhere.

Revealing mistake: When Austin enters the bathroom at the casino, keep your eyes on the door during the scene - it opens by itself before closing. (00:31:10)

Dr. Evil: Very well, where should I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. A sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical; summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. If I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard, really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fifteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shawn scrotum. At the age of eighteen, I went off to evil medical school. From there.

Trivia: When the mutated sea-bass eats the guard's head, Mike Myers forgot his lines and made up the "head" jokes. It was so funny, they decided to leave it like that.
