The Avengers

Corrected entry: Towards the beginning of the film Steve Rogers is working out his frustrations on a punching bag in a gym. He finally hits the bag so hard that it breaks open and flies against the wall. Watch the chain it was hanging from when he makes the final punch. Despite the force of the blow the chain connecting the bag to the ceiling stays completely motionless.

BocaDavie

Correction: The chain you see does not move, true. But that chain is in the FOREGROUND, even though it is hanging from the same metal frame that Steve mounts the punching bags on. However, it is not the chain that the bag was hanging from. You're talking about a single chain that hangs straight down, but each punching bag is hung from three chains connected by a metal ring, which he connects direcly to a hook on the large metal frame.

Corrected entry: Towards the end of the movie, when Captain America combats the aliens in the building with the civilians held hostage, he throws his shield and is left to fight them hand to hand. A grenade is dropped and in the meantime, his shield is nowhere to be seen. Cap rushes to the window in one shot and in the next he is holding his shield in time to protect himself from the blast.

fropowder72

Correction: If you look closely after Cap defends himself with that aliens body and does the back flip/roll he picks up the shield from the ground to protect himself from the blast.

Corrected entry: When Hawkeye shoots his arrow at Loki, as Loki snatches it out of the air you can see his right hand controlling, well nothing. They probably meant to digitally add the controls for the speederbike type device Loki is riding, but he is just controlling the air.

halbot

Correction: Loki is not steering the speeder, one of the aliens is. He's just riding on the back of it.

wizard_of_gore

Corrected entry: Near the beginning of the film, Tony Stark views the information on the other superheroes before they all come together, on hologram touch screens. If you look closely at one of the screens, you can see footage of Black Widow and Hawkeye fighting side-by-side. That same footage was taken from the final fight scene of the movie, so it hadn't happened yet.

Correction: Not the same footage; the background is different, and they're on different sides of the screen. The footage they are showing is supposed to be of a previous battle the two of them had fought - given the broadly similar setup and Black Widow saying "just like Budapest all over again", it might be that occasion.

BocaDavie

Corrected entry: Early in the final battle, there is a scene where some of the letters on the STARK sign on Stark Tower are falling off of the building. One of those letter was A, but at the end of the movie, the A is still on the tower.

Correction: It's the R and the K that we see get broken off during the Loki & Thor fight. A short time later, after Loki escapes Thor on one of the Chitauri sleds, a wide shot is shown of the tower and you can see the STA and a small portion of the R still present on the tower.

Corrected entry: MAJOR SPOILERS: Agent Coulson dies with his eyes open. When Fury stands up, Coulson's eyes are suddenly closed.

Brad

Correction: If you look closely you can see that his left eye is partially open in both the close-up and the wider shots. You can't see his right eye in the wider shot so you can't make the comparison.

XIII

Corrected entry: Right after the second engine goes down on the shield Helicarrier, the altitude reading on Iron Man's HUD shows just over 15,000 feet for the altitude. A short time later, even though the helicarrier has been falling since the engine went down, the altitude on the helicarrier's bridge shows the helicarrier falling through 18,000 feet.

poehitman

Correction: 2 independent systems showing different values for altitude is not a continuity mistake, it merely shows that the systems are not calibrated for the same ground level or, more likely, that both systems don't operate under the same physical conditions. E.g. Helicarrier in "normal" air vs Iron Man inside an engine that produces heat and pressure changes while moving, thereby falsifying his readings.

Suggesting Iron Man's suit is giving falsified readings because of pressure and heat is ridiculous. Iron Man's suit is controlled by an advanced AI, you really think it wouldn't notice strange readings?

lionhead

Just because you notice a strange reading does not mean that you can correct it on the fly. Or, as suggested, Iron Man has simply calibrated his altimeter for a wrong/virtual ground level as a signal for him to get out of there in case his plan fails. The main point of my suggested correction is that the Helicarrier and the suit are two independent systems that do not necessarily need to show the same values and the views of Suit's HUD in them self are consistent insofar as that the altitude drops from 15000+ to 13000+.

HTH

You're right. 2 independent altitude meters can give separate altitudes. The correction is solid.

lionhead

Factual error: In the scene in Stuttgart, we see a "reserved parking" sign written as "Reservierten Parken". First of all, this is grammatically wrong - if used at all, it should be "Reserviertes Parken". But you wouldn't find a sign in Germany saying that. They say "Reservierter Parkplatz".

Trivia: When Loki is grabbed by the Hulk and repeatedly smashed into the floor, Tom Hiddleston had a rope tied around his ankle which was pulled to achieve the effect. Although, Tom was told that the rope would be pulled while speaking to the Hulk, he was never told when the rope would be pulled so his reaction to quickly be pulled down was real.

Question: How is Hulk a total mayhem on the aircraft carrier, almost killing Romanoff, but at the end he is acting as a team member? Banner did reveal his secret how to control not turning into Hulk, but not how to control Hulk himself...

Answer: During the end sequence of The Incredible Hulk Banner discovers that he can aim the Hulk in the right direction, give it a goal, which he uses to defeat the Abomination in that film. Key to that appears to be willingly accepting the transformation into the Hulk, which he does by choosing to jump from the helicopter. On the Helicarrier, Banner doesn't want to transform, it's caught him by surprise, he's fighting it, which is why it takes ages, is seemingly very painful and, as an involuntary change, the Hulk is out of control. In the final battle, Banner chooses to make the transformation, to "suit up", as it were, and thus the change is swift, painless and results in the cooperative Hulk capable of working with the others towards a goal.
