The Matrix (1999)

Continuity mistake: The first time Neo comes out of the Loading Program, and is about to throw up, it shows you a shot from his eyes and the floor is clear of anything, and then it does a shot of him throwing up and he does so on a bunch of wires. The angle changes too - the POV shows all the lines in the grate at about 45 degrees, but when he throws up, they're all horizontal in relation to him. (00:42:25)

Continuity mistake: When Tank comes in to talk to Neo about training in Neo's cell, the strap on Tank's shoulder moves from being on his skin when he's in the doorway to on his shirt in subsequent shots. (00:44:55)

Continuity mistake: When Morpheus and Neo are fighting in the training simulation, just after Morpheus says, "You think that's air you're breathing now?" there is a pause before he prompts Neo, "Again." The shot goes to others watching on the monitors, notice Dozer looks to his left in the direction of Mouse. In the next shot the camera cuts to Cypher and Trinity (who are sitting behind Mouse) but Dozer's head is now facing the opposite direction it should be. (00:50:10)

Continuity mistake: When Morpheus fights Neo in the training program, Neo is pushed backwards and slides along the floor. In the close-up, his head stops level with one of the black stripes on the floor, so that his eyes are looking at it. In the wide shot in which Morpheus jumps in slow motion through the air, Neo's head is past the line so that it is level with his chest, as if he has slid forward further, despite having stopped previously. In the close-up, the line is again level with his eyes, but when we see Morpheus' knees crashing into the floor, Neo has again moved forwards such that his head is no longer level with the line. Revealing mistake: When Neo is fighting Morpheus in the training room and Neo runs up the wall, you can see Keanu Reeves is holding onto the wires attached to the safety belt around his waist. (00:51:25)

Continuity mistake: Near the middle of the film when Morpheus directs Tank to load the Jump Program note where Morpheus and Neo land on roof of building. Aerial view shows them landing some distance from the building but when the camera cuts to the first close up they are standing right next to the building. (00:51:30)

Revealing mistake: When it is Neo's turn to make the Jump he takes a run up, and the camera changes to a brief sideshot of him running across the top of the building with the sky behind him. There is a big fuzzy blobby outline around him which should have been edited out. (00:52:20)

Continuity mistake: When Neo falls during the jump program, after he finally lands on the concrete his left arm sleeve is pulled down midway. The camera then does a close-up of Neo, and his shirt has fixed itself and is now to his wrist. (00:52:30)

Continuity mistake: Near the middle of the film when we see Morpheus and Neo have entered the Matrix in a scene that begins at a city intersection with a "Walk/Don't Walk" Traffic Sign. Just as the cross the street, Morpheus is speaking to Neo, the next shot looks over Neo's shoulder back towards the intersection, it is no longer visible, as though they have traveled farther down the block than physically possible in the time allotted. Revealing mistake: When Neo is being trained in the "jump program" Neo jumps and fails to make it across. When he is closer to the camera, the wind blows up his shirt and you can see the black safety harness on his abdomen. (Easier to view in slow motion). (00:54:35)

Continuity mistake: When Neo and Morpheus are in the matrix simulation program, look at the people behind Smith as he draws his weapon. Normal. Then, when he is frozen and Neo looks back at him, you will see that all of the people are facing towards Neo or walking towards him. (00:54:50)

Visible crew/equipment: When Neo and Morpheus are in the training program with the girl in the red dress, after Morpheus has paused the program you can see a camera and a black fabric cover around it reflected off Morpheus' sunglasses for a considerable amount of time. Noticeably in the shot considerably close to his face while talking. (00:58:00 - 00:59:00)

Continuity mistake: When Cypher is making the deal with agent Smith, he cuts off a big piece of steak. A few seconds later when he actually puts it in his mouth, it has changed shape and shrunk considerably and changed from medium rare (mostly red) to medium (pink in the center). (01:01:20)

Continuity mistake: When Cipher is making the deal, one second he is holding his cigar in his right hand, then all of a sudden it is in his left. (01:02:25)

Continuity mistake: When on the rooftop and the agent and Neo are shooting at each other Neo runs out of bullets and places the guns in front of him he starts avoiding the bullets. The camera angle changes and the guns disappear. When the camera angle goes back the guns are there and he reloads them. (01:07:00)

Visible crew/equipment: When Neo is going to open the door to enter the Oracle's house, you can clearly see a camera on the doorknob. There's a sheet over it painted to look like the wall behind it, with a representation of Morpheus' tie too, because he's blocked by the camera. (01:07:40)

Continuity mistake: When Neo and Morpheus are in the hallway to see The Oracle, the shot of Neo's hand on the knob shows Morpheus with his sunglasses on. Morpheus is in shot the whole time when the door's opened, and he doesn't move an inch, but in the front shot as he walks through the door, his sunglasses have suddenly been removed. (01:07:40)

Continuity mistake: In the Oracle's house there is something wrong with the glasses in the cupboard behind Neo. When he's looking at the children, there are three small glasses in front, a big one behind and something else beside them. In a shot from below when the boy hands the spoon to Neo, the big glass has now moved to the left of the small ones. (01:08:25)

Visible crew/equipment: When Neo first holds the little boy's spoon the white screen is visible in the reflection. (01:09:10)

Continuity mistake: In the kitchen scene with Neo and the Oracle, the Oracle is baking cookies. When the Oracle takes the cookies out of the oven and brings them to the table there are 4 cookies on the plate. As she offers a cookie to Neo there are 6 cookies on the plate. (01:14:00)
