Continuity mistake: When Bond has his final confrontation with Whitaker, he empties his PPK at him in an attempt to take him down. In the process, he hits the gunshield on Whitaker's weapon five times and it remains clean. But when Whitaker rounds the corner a few seconds later, the impacts from the PPK bullets are suddenly visible on the shield's surface.
Continuity mistake: The wheel that is shot off of Bonds car during the frozen lake chase scene is back on the car seconds later as Bond is jumping over the Russian/Czech soldiers.
Continuity mistake: Before Bond lands on the yacht his parachute is burning and noticeable holes are made. A shot later the parachute looks perfect, except for a couple of steam clouds coming out.

Continuity mistake: When Pushkin lies on the bed, his left arm is raised or not, depending on the shot. Also, his jacket is folded differently.
Revealing mistake: When Necros fights for his life on the plane and later when he plummets, one can see a protruding, bulky object under the stuntman's shirt, which is obviously his parachute.
Revealing mistake: During the scene at the airbase, several explosions take place one after the other in a straight line. When the smoke disappears, one can see the track of the protruding mount where the pyrotechnics were buried.
Continuity mistake: On the frozen lake, a cottage is blown to pieces, a wheel flies away, and many explosions take place, rising big clouds of black smoke. However, in the wide angle, the place is spotless.
Continuity mistake: In Gibraltar, when the jeep falls off the cliff the driver disappears.
Revealing mistake: When Bond drives on the frozen lake, there are mounts of snow to hide the explosives from the rockets fired at by the enemies.
Answer: Bond is referring to an attack on the Soviet military. There are damaged military vehicles and the bodies of Soviet soldiers lying around, so the village appears to have been recently "liberated" from the Soviets by the mujahideen, although with significant collateral damage to the village itself.
