Continuity mistake: Between the moment when the dolphins attack Ursula and when Scuttle does, a fallen table and the mess around appear/disappear/reappear between shots.

Continuity mistake: When Eric and Ursula are about to marry they stand inches away from the Minister. When the birds attack her, the ground-level shot shows nothing two meters ahead of them, therefore the Minister and his book stand have disappeared.

Continuity mistake: At the pond, Scuttle jumps on a branch that ends in 2 branches, plus a third one cut. When the angle changes, that third branch is fully grown and filled with leaves.

Continuity mistake: After Scuttle finds out that the girl is Ursula, he flies to tell Ariel. From the aerial angle she, Sebastian and Flounder are gone from the pier, only to reappear a frame later in a closer angle.

Continuity mistake: When Ursula stabs her bobby pin on the mirror it falls backwards. When the angle changes it's straight, then she steps on the make up cabinet and it's back to tilted backwards.

Revealing mistake: In Eric's cabin, when the young girl reveals herself to be Ursula, she starts to dance. Watch her right foot and you'll notice that it's blending and going through a green box as if it were not there.

Other mistake: In the last scene, where Ariel and Eric are sailing away in the boat, the rainbow in the background that Triton casts is backwards. It goes violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. Very strange.

Continuity mistake: During the hurricane, Eric's ship is tossed violently around on the waves. But when Ariel is thrown back into the water and the ship is seen from below, it's barely moving at all.

Continuity mistake: When Ariel goes to the surface to show Scuttle the fork, he first sees her through the telescope (which is the wrong way round). When you see Ariel through the telescope, she appears to be surrounded by the sea but when Scuttle takes away the telescope she is close up and right next to the rock he is on. Surely the rock would have seen through the telescope underneath Ariel not ocean.

Continuity mistake: When Ariel is trying to escape from the shark in the sunken ruin, she dashes out of a porthole without her bag of treasures. Then as she swims away, the bag is suddenly in her hands again.

Revealing mistake: When Ariel turns into a human for good at the end, Eric kisses her and then they are shown at their wedding. The last shot of the movie is the same shot as this one.

Sebastian: Are you sure about this?
Scuttle: Have I ever been wrong? I mean when it's important.
