Other mistake: In the scene when Robert gets caught up in the trap by Grand Central Terminal, there are no traffic lights on the upper street that they show him being suspended from.
Other mistake: How did Anna drive from Maryland to New York, where Dr. Neville was, if all the bridges were blown out?
Revealing mistake: When the taxi goes over the edge to capture Dr. Neville, you can see that the underbody of the car as it goes over is a flat painted surface and not the underside of what should be there (i.e., muffler, gas tank, etc.).
Neville: What the hell are you doing out here, Fred? Fred, if you're real, you better tell me right now!
Trivia: The Brooklyn Bridge scene cost 5 million to make, the most expensive scene ever filmed in New York at the time.
Question: Did just New York get contaminated or did the rest of the world get infected?
Answer: During the evacuation, it seems that only Manhattan is infected, or if there are infections elsewhere, it is not known by the government yet. Sometime in January 2010, things get worse if you follow the posters in the movie.
