Blades of Glory

Factual error: Early in the movie we see the newspaper dated "Sunday, March 14, 1987". March 14, 1987 was a Saturday, not a Sunday.

Factual error: The accident that killed the VanWaldenberg's parents was said to have taken place in 1987. In the TV news footage from the accident scene, the police cars had a distinctive body style not introduced until 1991.

Factual error: When Coach is watching Chazz and Jimmy fighting backstage of the kid show, on the news, Coach rewinds the fight several times with TiVo. When he rewinds it, you can here the sound playing reversed. When you rewind TiVo, you don't hear any sound at all.

Factual error: Error in geography: The figure skating competition in Montreal is implied to be taking place at the Olympic Stadium (both from exterior and interior shots). This stadium was built for the 1976 Summer Olympics - it is not a skating facility. The only ice venue of comparable size is the Bell Centre in downtown Montreal - some 20 km away.

Continuity mistake: When Stranz Van Waldenberg is chasing Chazz, the latter slides under a pipe, followed by Stranz, who leans backwards. We are shown a close-up of Stranz standing up and continuing skating, at which point the camera cuts to a close-up of Chazz and Stranz can be seen standing up for a second time in the background.

Question: So is the loophole used to get Chazz and Jimmy back into the figure skating arena actually in the Olympic Pairs skating rules somewhere?

Answer: No. International Skating Union regulations clearly states that the pair has to be a man and a woman.

Mortug

That wasn't the loophole. The loophole was that a ban is only good for the division where the skater was banned. If they were banned in singles, they could still compete in pairs.
