Revealing mistake: Julie just got out of the shower and is wearing merely a bathrobe, but you can see the outline of black underwear on Jennifer Love Hewitt.
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
1 revealing mistake
Directed by: Danny Cannon
Starring: Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mekhi Phifer, Brandy Norwood
Factual error: At the end when Ben Willis and his son have Julie at the graves, Ray shows up with a gun. He fires at Ben but there is no bullet in the chamber. Later after the fight between Ray and Ben's son Julie picks up the six-shot gun and fires 8 shots at Ben. (01:30:30)
Karla Wilson: "Try" is like "maybe," Julie. "Try" is bullshit.
Question: Was there any indication or hints that Will was actually Ben Willis' son before the reveal at the end?
Answer: I believe it was supposed to be a surprise plot twist, I don't remember there being any indication that Will was setting them up.

Answer: Besides the name? Which is kinda brilliant in a Glass Onion/The Last of Sheila sort of way, being incredibly obvious in retrospect. No particular hint. There are, in retrospect, some hints disguised as jokes, like "What if I don't have happy memories of my childhood?" on the plane to the Bahamas, or throwaway lines like Julie's very first time talking to him when she mentions that she is feeling the serial killer breathing on her neck at that very moment, but no direct references to the lineage.
