Continuity mistake: A little way into the film, Alex is talking to his mum in bed whilst she is applying lotion to his chickenpox. One moment his shirt is open, the next it is buttoned up and closed, but there was no time for his mum to do it up, it happened in a split second.
Continuity mistake: When Beaupre is approaching the pile of clothes that has the remote control car under, Alex rushes to the attic window and uses his remote control to turn the TV on in that house, to stall Beaupre. There is an item on top of the TV and in front of it too. These two items disappear as Beaupre approachs the TV. (00:38:00)Hamster
Continuity mistake: When Alex gets his remote control car back, he lifts up the viewfinder of the camcorder, then pushes it back down and lays his hand on it. Then he opens the tape compartment of the camcorder, which is empty, and in this closeup the viewfinder is back to pointing upwards. Continuity mistake: One of the criminals almost gets run over by Alex's mother while running with the dog. As she leans down to say "have a nice day," she places her hand on the roof of the car. The shot turns to Alex's mother, and the criminal's hand can be seen placed on the window, not the roof. (00:33:40)
Continuity mistake: After Alex calls the police the first time, his mother herds him into his room. When they first enter there is a shot of his bed, the top pillowcase's open end is first facing right. Then there is a close up of Alex and the open end is facing left. It continues switching to the right whenever the shot is from farther away, to the left when it's a close up of Alex.
Continuity mistake: When Alex revs the toy car backward to drag the rug over the stairs into the other room, we can see in one shot the rug only reaches the bottom of the second step, whereas in the next shot of the car coming down the steps, the rug is now further down and you can see that a ramp has been put under it so the car does not fall over. Continuity mistake: In the very first scene, a black car pulls up behind the red car. As the car swings round, only one barrel is visible from the long shot. When it cuts to the red car's POV looking towards the car pulling up, there are now two barrels visible, one very close to the red car. (00:02:00)
Continuity mistake: When one of the criminals confirms her position as "4th house, moving to the alley," the shot moves to Alex running from one window to the other, with nothing in his hands. He goes to push open the window and the shot changes again. Alex now has the car remote control as the window opens. (00:42:55)
Continuity mistake: At the end, when the parrot is going into the igloo, the igloo looks tiny from the outside, as if Alex would barely fit in there. But when the parrot goes into the igloo, the man can fit in there and there is so much more space in it.
Continuity mistake: Alex places Doris (in his box) down on the table in the attic. The phone and remote control are neatly placed on the edge. However the shot changes to show Doris placed in between the phone and remote, which have changed places. (00:34:30)
Continuity mistake: Alex's mother goes to make him a sandwich and squeezes jelly onto the bread. The shot comes back after both Alex and his mother talk before she goes out. The jelly has mysteriously been spread.
Continuity mistake: Mr. Beaupre is talking to Alex in the garage, and Alex walks backwards away from him, he nearly touches the wooden shelf behind him. When it cuts to a wideshot Alex is now much further away from the shelf, and when it cuts to another closeup he once again walks back into the shelf. (01:29:16)
Continuity mistake: When the FBI are rushing to reach Alex, as the snowploughs sweep the spy's car aside the front plough sweeps to the left. Further down the street the front plough sweeps to the right.
Continuity mistake: At one point, the mother gets an audible page. When she looks at the display to see the number, you can clearly see that the pager is set to "silent." (00:29:20)
Continuity mistake: Alex puts the present down to take off his hat and scarf, by the front door. Between shots the present moves a few inches closer to the bag next to it. (00:11:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Alex's mum is about to leave his room after applying lotion to his chest. Alex's hair is slightly scruffy - when the shot comes back to him after being on the mum his hair is combed and neat.
Continuity mistake: When Dupre knocks the washing basket off of the side, on top of the car, we see the basket land upside down, but in the next shot it is on its side.
Continuity mistake: Alex starts turning off Mrs. Hess' TV from the attic. The ornaments in front of the TV move between shots at least twice, in consecutive shots. (00:16:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Stan is bouncing his basketball, Alex's grasshopper is crawling around on the floor. Notice the bug is a brown type of a color and then when Stan squishes the grasshopper it is green on the bottom of the basketball.
Continuity mistake: When Alex first takes out the bubble-squirting gun and threatens Olek Krupa's character with it, the muzzle looks like what one might see on a real gun. However, when we get a closeup of it after Alex shouts at Olek Krupa and chases him away, the muzzle has a gaping hole in it, because it's a different bubble-squirting gun.redbaron2000
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning, Beaupre and Co. follow a taxi driver to its station and we see it park. It pulls right up to a metal fence. However, when Jurnigen and Unger approach the taxi driver a moment later we can see in the background that the fence is a good distance away from the car.
Continuity mistake: The main bad guy has Alex cornered in Mrs. Hess' garage. Look at the clear plastic cup behind Alex. One shot the cup is upright, the next it is on its side.
Continuity mistake: When the villain with the long hair is being electrocuted by the wire outside the front door, in a close up shot his ski pants are on fire, then in a further away shot, they are not, then in another close up they are on fire again. (01:03:05)
