Home Alone 3

Question: When Beaupre thought there was a woman in the Alcott's house, why go back in and kill her? He thought she was in the shower so she couldn't see him, so there was no evidence to give the police about what he looked like.

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Answer: It was Jernigan who thought there was a woman in the shower and he couldn't take the risk that if it was a woman, that she would eventually get out and see intruders in the house and call for the police. The only option open to Jernigan would be to kill her so there'd be no witnesses.

No it was Beaupre who thought there was a woman in the house.

I've seen the movie and I can confirm that it was Jernigan who opened the shower curtain because he thought a woman was in the shower.

Question: If they're spies then why are the four shown being booked in regular jail? Why aren't they in a federal prison?

Rob245

Answer: Because it's just a movie, it's a comedy, and the filmmakers are not concerned with exact, realistic details. They expect the audience to just enjoy the silliness and not be overly concerned about reality. The two other Home Alone films employed similar "suspension of disbelief" in the plots.

Exactly like what happened to the guy that gave them the chip. Wouldn't he be arrested too, but we don't hear anything about what happened to him. I'm assuming since he had a plan to catch he was going somewhere he can't be extradited.

The guy who hired Beaupre and his team was in China the whole time, so he couldn't be extradited to America since China has no extradition treaty with America.

Answer: There are two possible explanations: 1) Because there is far less space available in federal prisons, compared to state and local facilities, federal prisoners and arrestees are often kept in local facilities. 2) Because the federal charges or providing support for terrorism and industrial espionage are harder to prove compared to the state-level charges of breaking and entering, assault and battery, and attempted murder.

It's doubtful the writers had all that in mind when writing a comedy holiday script. The plot simply calls for the spies to be caught and thrown into jail at the end of the story. There is also a difference between prison and jail. Prison is for those convicted of a crime. Jail is a temporary holding place after an arrest is made. With police being involved in the arrest, the spies would initially be booked and held in the local jail. The spies would later be transferred to federal custody to await trial.

Question: Why does Alex's House have an elevator/dumb waiter? I've never heard of a house having any type of elevator or dumb waiter.

Answer: Many older, larger homes were originally built by wealthy owners and it is not uncommon for these homes to have an elevator or dumbwaiter for the help's use. Even though it is rare for a homeowner to have a butler today, many of these older homes still find use for the dumbwaiter/elevator the butler would have used.

Question: I don't get why Alice is being nice to Karen after she almost ran her over with her car? Why is she telling her to have a nice day and smiling at her? She's a crook so I just don't understand.

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: She is supposed to be inconspicuous, blending into a family friendly neighborhood. It would arouse suspicions, if she screamed and threatened to knock her block off.

Question: What did Jernigan mean by twenty seconds out when the Stephan's were being robbed? And why did Alex tell the police woman he had the chicken pox the first time he called 911?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: "Twenty seconds out" means that they are approximately twenty seconds away from the house. Alex said it to give a reason as to why he was home and not in school.

Greg Dwyer

Question: Why does the man who tells Beaupre to get the chip want it in the first place? Also when he said $1000 would he give that much to Beaupre or is it the other way around? Also what did he mean when he said not a plan but the chip itself?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: The man is the head of a terrorist organization. The chip can make it so that missiles are able to be launched undetected. He wants to use it for that purpose.

Greg Dwyer

Question: Exactly who is in charge of the villains? I know it isn't Beaupre but is the man who told them to get the chip or is someone in charge of him?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: They are freelance thieves who are working for a client. They are in charge of themselves.

Greg Dwyer

Answer: The unnamed Terrorist group assigned the Asian guy to procure them a chip for an unstoppable missile. He then hired Beaupre who put his team together. Alice good at intelligence, Jurnigan at Electronics and Surveillance, Unger is a Master of Disguise, Beaupre is the leader of the team as he gives the directives and answers to the Asian guy.

Question: Does this movie bear any relation to the previous 2, beside from being in the same series?

Answer: No, none whatsoever. None of the characters from the previous movies appear or are ever mentioned.

THGhost

Question: In the garage, Beaupre yells something to Alex in a foreign lanuage after ripping the toy car apart. Does anybody know what he says?

Hamster

Chosen answer: Where is the chip?

Question: When Beaupre says "what a brave little boy", was he being sarcastic or did he actually admire everything Alex was doing?

THE GAMER NEXT DOOR

Chosen answer: He admires him for being brave and smart, with a little sarcasm.

Also, it was Alex's mother on the phone, he could've said "Help! The bad guys are in the house." However since he had called the police before, twice, and no-one believed him, he caught them himself.

Question: What breed is the dog that pulls the woman villain through the bushes?

Answer: It appears to be a mixed breed of dog.

Answer: Leonberger.

Question: Why doesn't the FBI call at Alex's house when learning that he got the chip?

Answer: Imagine getting a phone call from the F.B.I. saying your son is in possession of a computer chip wanted by a group of international thieves and a terrorist cell. You either think it was from a crank call or a nutcase. Either way you'd be leaving in fear. Plus the F.B.I. didn't know the circumstances of how the kid got the chip. They may believe the kid stumbled upon it or the family was involved.

Audio problem: Near the end of the movie when the parrot is going to light the firecrackers, he is talking perfectly even though he has a match in his mouth. (01:30:35)

Trivia: One of the many early concepts for the film after Macaulay Culkin dropped out was to have Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern returning as the "Wet Bandits," who would torment Kevin's young cousin Fuller, but this was dropped as none of the actors wanted to return for a third film.
