Other mistake: During the very last race, Lightning McQueen gets next to Chick Hicks, and the reflection of that his "C" emblem is on Lightning McQueen's hood. However, the C is facing the right way. Since the C is placed on the Chick Hicks in the correct direction, the reflection on Lighting McQueen should be a mirror image.
Lightning McQueen: Look, Doc said when I finish, I could go. That was the deal.
Doc Hudson: The deal was you fix the road, not make it worse. Now, scrape it off! Start over again.
Lightning McQueen: Hey. Look, grandpa, I'm not a bulldozer. I'm a race car.

Trivia: Lightning McQueen uses Lightyear brand tyres (as opposed to Good Year), which is a reference to Buzz Lightyear from another Disney-Pixar movie, Toy Story.
Question: Can someone explain the mechanics (and physics) of how Doc's advice to "Turn right to go left" helps with McQueen's drifting?
Answer: Instead of sliding on all four tires, he's only sliding on the back two. The front two tires are turned to align with the direction of travel, allowing the car to maintain greater control of the drift. The slow-motion scene when McQueen first accomplishes this shows what's happening.
