Anchorman

Plot hole: At the end of the movie when getting out of the bear pit, the crew decides to use a ladder when a set of stairs can be seen. Was this so Vince Vaughn could give his respect speech?

Suggested correction: You forgot to mention the stairs are also in the bear cave and there's no guarantee they lead out of the pit.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where the news team is sitting around on the set and complaining about how much Ron's life has been sucked up by Veronica, Ron is eating a sandwich, which from shot to shot, varies up and down in the number of bites that have been taken out of it. Continuity mistake: After the big fight scene with all the different news stations, Ron and his news team are all in the office thinking about what happened. Ron puts down a beer bottle at one point. In the first shot of this, the bottle is about half full. In the second shot, it is filled to the point where the curve in the bottle ends, which is more beer than there was in the first shot. (01:06:30)

Other mistake: In the scene where Ron and Veronica are in the car overlooking San Diego talking about the name, you can see just above Veronica's head, a bug climbing on the camera.

Suggested correction: There's no way what it's seen is a bug on the lens. It's on the windshield of the car. At the start of the scene, you see the bug in front of Ron and it slowly makes its way across the windshield and then up towards the roofline as it gets in front of Veronica.

Factual error: Although the film is set in the 1970s, the San Diego Convention Center can be seen in several skyline shots of the city of San Diego throughout the film. It was built during the mid 1980s.

Factual error: The movie is set in the 1970's, yet when Brian Fantana is reporting from the zoo, a man wearing a U.S. army jacket walks behind him. The jacket is of the woodland camouflage design which was not made until the 1980's.

Continuity mistake: During the scene that has Ron Burgundy taking his beloved dog to the vet, he throws his food out of the window. It strikes an angry biker and causes him to wipe-out on the bridge. They show Ron's car going by him. But when Ron stops, the motorcycle is now in front of the car.

Factual error: Throughout the movie, there are shots of downtown San Diego, which is supposed to be set in the 1970s. Yet, there are shots of One America Plaza, the tallest building in San Diego, which was built in 1991.

Audio problem: After Ron hears that if he can't make it to the station in time that they are going to put Veronica on, he exits the phone booth and runs toward the camera. You can see him push over a man and shout "I've got to do the news" but if you watch his lips, they aren't moving when he says this. (00:52:05)

Revealing mistake: Near the end of the film when the channel four news team is down in the bear pit, Luke Wilson is reporting on the drama at the top of the pit as it unfolds; during which one of the bears reaches up out of the pit to grab Luke Wilson's remaining arm. Just before the bear rips his arm off, you can see the line at which a fake arm is connected to his suit. It's also very obvious that the hand holding the microphone is fake as well.

Factual error: The movie takes place in the 1970s, yet the Channel 4 news van is an early 1980s model Dodge Ram Van.

Continuity mistake: After Brian Fantana uses his Sex Panther cologne, he is hosed down by two men outside. Later, Brian's hair is still soaking, but he is wearing the exact same suit which is now completely dry.

Continuity mistake: In the aerial shot before the fight scene you can see a white truck parked at one of the loading docks. But when the actual fight happens there is no truck there anymore.

Continuity mistake: When the news stations clash, as soon as they all run into the center of the circle Brian Fantana falls down on the ground, but in the next shot he is fighting at the back.

Factual error: In the scene where Ed Harkin calls the bar to ask if Ron Burgundy is there, you can see a calendar to the far right of the bartender. It is the calendar for July, and the 1st of July is a Tuesday. 1975 is the only year in the 1970's that this could be possible. "Afternoon Delight" (the song the news team sings when Veronica Corningstone is introduced) wasn't out until one year later, July of 1976.

Continuity mistake: When the Spanish Language News Team arrives, the team consists of seven members. But once they all come down the stairs and get ready for the fight, there are six members.
