Love Actually

Factual error: When Billy Mack hears he is No. 1, the DJ, (Radio 1's Wes, who does the chart in reality) says the two singles which could be No. 1, then announces Billy is and plays it, without playing the no. 2 song first. The chart is done as an uninterrupted countdown, so even if it's known what no. 1 will be, they'll still play the "losing" song before it.

Revealing mistake: This is really a reverse mistake resulting in NON-visible crew. When the U.S. President's black limo arrives and stops so that the camera is facing the car's left rear side, you can see that the car has been smeared - unevenly - with some sort of gel to prevent us from seeing the reflection of the lights, crew, and the set opposite Downing Street.

Continuity mistake: When Mia is talking to Harry from near the doorway to his office, just before Sarah turns up for her talk with him, the office chair behind Mia has been wheeled around. There's nobody moving enough in the scene to account for it at that point, though Sarah comes past moments later on her way in to see Harry. (00:17:25)

Continuity mistake: During the scene between John and Judy in the classy hotel set, as they are preparing to stimulate sex against the bedpost, Judy removes all her outer layers of clothing and throws them on the bed. In following shots you can see the arrangement of clothing on the bed has changed. (00:14:00)

Karen: Tell me, what would you do in my position?
Harry: What position is that?
Karen: Imagine your husband bought a gold necklace and come Christmas gave it to somebody else...
Harry: Oh, Karen...
Karen: Would you wait around to find out if it's just a necklace, or if it's sex and a necklace, or if worst of all it's a necklace and love? Would you stay, knowing life would always be a little bit worse? Or would you cut and run?
Harry: Oh, God. I am so in the wrong. The classic fool.
Karen: Yes, but you've also made a fool out of me, and you've made the life I lead foolish too.

Trivia: Any viewers outside of Britain might not get the joke when Billy Mack isn't sure which one is Ant or Dec. They are very well known in the UK, and dominate Saturday night telly. The joke refers to the fact that even though they are popular, a lot of people don't know which one's which.

Question: Does Kiera Nightly's character ever split up with her husband and go to his best friend? They show her with the husband at the end of the movie, but it seemed to me that she really loved the best friend. I was sure she would choose him over her husband.

Answer: No, Keira Knightley's character is not in love with the best friend; her kiss is one of compassion and affection, not love. Richard Curtis mentions this on the DVD commentary - he says something about Juliet being the sort of girl who would be used to men falling for her and treating them gently and kindly, which is what she does here.
