Factual error: Ed is working as a video store clerk, and yet he lives alone in a one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco. No, he doesn't. Rent for a place of that size, in that neighbourhood, even if he got the place in the '80s, would have been more than the entire monthly paycheck for a video store clerk (even a well-paid one).

Edtv (1999)
1 factual error - chronological order
Directed by: Ron Howard
Starring: Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey, Jenna Elfman, Sally Kirkland, Merrin Dungey, Geoffrey Blake, Gail Boggs, Jenna Byrne
Genres: Comedy
Continuity mistake: After Ed's real father dies and he arrives at the hospital, his mother is coming down the hallway wearing high-heeled shoes. After she gives Ed a hug she has flat shoes on. (01:30:30)
Cynthia: We don't even have money in our budget for coffee filters. We're using a yarmulke.
Trivia: Pointless mention, but took me by surprise. About half way through the film, a guy called Shane tries to get Ed to listen to his band's tape. He's played by Christian Kane, who went on to play Lindsay in "Angel". Yeah, minor point, but I'm an Angel fan, so it was interesting to me.
