Correction: Also, her parents probably did not care quite as much when she was a bit younger and her sister's wedding was not as imminent. When they saw her being picked up by the man, and when she got more serious about playing football, was when they started to get apprehensive.
Continuity mistake: In the scene of the football game in which Jess and Jules are not talking, if you watch closely, you can see that Jules' headband changes from a black fabric headband to a crisscross plastic headband.
Jules: Anyway being a lesbian's not that big a deal.
Paula: Oh no of course not sweetheart no. I mean I've got nothing against it. I was cheering for Martina Navratilova as much as the next person.
Trivia: Parminder K Nagra, who plays Jess, is 17/18 in the film - she is getting her A level results part way through the film. It might surprise you to know that she was born on October 5 1975, making her 28.
