Continuity mistake: In the scene where the Graboid is pulling the truck you can see that there is a gun rack and a gun in it. Right before they are about to hit the rock you can see that the gun falls off of the gun rack. The gun goes on and off the rack between the following shots. (00:30:25)
Burt is called to take care of graboid trouble in Mexico. Two Mexicans find a split open graboid after their truck breaks down. They find the radio station torn to pieces and walking creatures attack them. They kill one and take off in a van. The girl at the town is attack by one and the Mexicans kill it. Burt arrives, out of ammo, and with a live Shrieker. They discover Shriekers heat-seek and reproduce by eating. A Shrieker that hitched a ride on Burt's truck and eats. Soon the town is overrun with Shriekers.
Earl Bassett: You want to hunt graboids, you better know geology. You drive, I'm going to keep my eye on this seismojigger thing.
Trivia: Early in production, the film was reportedly intended to be a theatrical release as the first film became a huge hit on VHS and on cable. However, when original co-stars Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire were unable to commit for various reasons, the budget was lowered and it became a direct-to-video feature. While this was initially disappointing, it paid off in the long run, as it launched a continuing franchise with a further five sequels and a popular (but short-lived) TV series.
Question: Was this movie released theatrically? I know "Tremors 3" and "Tremors 4" were not, but what about this one? Also, is there plans to release "Tremors: The Series" on DVD?
