Trivia: When Burt fires his BFG at the lone shrieker in front of the brick wall, he's firing a real version of the gun and using a slightly less devastating round than the in-movie version.

Suggested correction: I do not understand this trivia at all. This is basically just saying that the movie is simulating the gunfire by using a less lethal or blank round, which is how virtually all movies handle guns. I don't see how this is trivia.

Revealing mistake: It's very clear they blew up a model of the buildings. The grass seen just before the explosions is way too long and is not as long when the characters are running away. Further, the truck and the barrels have disappeared at the explosion shot.

Kate Reilly: Who named them graboids anyway?
Earl Bassett: A friend of ours, Walter Chang, he named them. Then they ate him.

Trivia: Early in production, the film was reportedly intended to be a theatrical release as the first film became a huge hit on VHS and on cable. However, when original co-stars Kevin Bacon and Reba McEntire were unable to commit for various reasons, the budget was lowered and it became a direct-to-video feature. While this was initially disappointing, it paid off in the long run, as it launched a continuing franchise with a further five sequels and a popular (but short-lived) TV series.
