Thunderball

Continuity mistake: James comes up from seeing the plane on the seabed. The first thing he does - he has his back to us - is speak to the man, giving an order. But then we see James take the mouthpiece out of his mouth, which means he couldn't have spoken.

Continuity mistake: When Bond and the girl get to the beach, he puts his shirt on his left shoulder, his hand by his cheek. A second later, his hand is by his chest, another second, and he's carrying his shirt.

Movie Nut

Visible crew/equipment: As Bond is starting down the stairs into the secret service hide-out in the Bahamas you can see a boom mike in the upper right hand corner of the screen. After the mike goes out of picture you can still see its shadow on the wall. (00:59:25)

Revealing mistake: When Largo escapes to Disco Volante, he closes the underwater hatch before Bond arrives. But the hatch can't close completely. A hole is visible (and light from behind). The hatch is obviously created in a studio, because the boat would not be able to sail - at least not that fast - with such an opening in the bottom.

Jacob La Cour

Visible crew/equipment: When the colonel dressed as a woman enters his house a butler opens a glass door, as he does, for a second, a big round stage light is reflected. (00:01:45)

Continuity mistake: When Bond is at the spa and he turns the dial on the steamer, one second the man has a pink/white towel around his neck, the next it has turned blue. In addition, when it cuts back some bottles have disappeared from a nearby steamer. (00:17:05)

Revealing mistake: Near the end of the film, when the bombs are on board the mini-sub, Bond is spotted by Largo and swims away, but is chased by one of the other divers who has a fight with Bond: Just before they get to grips with one another, you can see that the jacket of Bond's underwater suit is already torn at the right shoulder.

Will

Continuity mistake: The scene with the Aston when Lippe's car is blown up by the motor bike rider is filmed at Silverstone. You can see the Stowe grandstands in the background. (00:36:40)

Continuity mistake: The shark pool the thug is thrown into alternates between just deep enough for sharks, to several feet deep and back between shots.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: As the man holds the gun on Angelo after his demand for more money, first the gun is at the small of his back, and a second later, it's at neck level.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When James goes to meet Largo, there is a woman swimming laps in the pool. When she is finished, her hair covers her ears and some of her face, but, in the next shot, her hair has been combed back, making her look presentable and beautiful.

Continuity mistake: In the car chase scene, the black car chasing Bond gets blasted by a motorcycle. The back of the car explodes and is has flames twice as tall as the car. When seeing it through Bond's windshield, the car has only smoke. When the camera cuts back, the flames are huge again. Also, when the motorcycle goes to pass Bond, he looks left, but the bike passes on his right.

Movie Nut

Factual error: The Panamanian flag on the Disco Volante is upside down throughout the film. It flew in that configuration only in 1903.

wizard_of_gore

Continuity mistake: When Bond meets Domino in the diving scene, when Domino is seen from below, the sky above her is overcast. In the following wide shots the sky is clear (or almost clear).

Jacob La Cour

Continuity mistake: When the second SPECTRE tape is being played, in the first shot the left tape wheel - where the tape which is still to be played is coming from - is almost empty. In the next shot it is full.

Jacob La Cour

Visible crew/equipment: When the red headed woman answers the phone, a row of lights are reflected on the phone head. (00:17:50)

James Bond: My dear, uncooperative Domino.
Domino: How do you know that? How do you know my friends call me Domino?
James Bond: It's on the bracelet on your ankle.
Domino: So... what sharp little eyes you've got.
James Bond: Wait 'til you get to my teeth.

Trivia: If you noticed that almost all of the bad guys, including the villain, are all Italian, this is no coincidence. The original story involved the Mafia and the villain, Emilio Largo, as a Mafia chieftain. The story was changed to replace the Mafia with the organization, SPECTRE.

Question: I am completely confused about the ending of this film. I mean, the camera-geiger counter starts clicking showing the nuclear weapons are on the boat, but they are not, they are still being moved. And the weapons do get onto the yacht, but both parts of it explode right at the end. Wouldn't that destroy the bombs as well, eg. massive atomic explosion? It is probably just me, I am known to be slow, but can someone explain?

KingofallSamurai

Chosen answer: Geiger counters show when radiation, even faint traces, are present. Therefore, if nuclear weapons were there recently, it will register. The scientist told Domino he threw the detonators overboard so the bombs could not explode. Also, nukes are surprisingly durable. Being in a large explosion will not detonate the core, only a specific chain reaction will.

SexyIrishLeprechaun

Answer: Yep he's right.
