Factual error: When Richard goes to the mainland with Sal, he calls back home to say that he is OK. International phone calls cannot be made from the blue public phones of the type he uses. Only public phones from CAT (Communication Authority of Thailand) can be used for this purpose. Richard was calling from a TOT (Telephone Organization of Thailand) phone.

The Beach (2000)
1 factual error
Directed by: Danny Boyle
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Carlyle, Tilda Swinton, Guillaume Canet, Virginie Ledoyen, Daniel York, Patcharawan Patarakijjanon

Continuity mistake: The photo that Richard downloads at the end is clearly not the one taken earlier. There are people in different positions, and one guy who was standing on the ground when the picture was taken is missing completely.
Richard: The only downer is, everyone's got the same idea. We all travel thousands of miles just to watch TV and check in to somewhere with all the comforts of home, and you gotta ask yourself, what is the point of that?
Question: Does anyone know the name of the piece of music that plays when the first shot of the island is revealed? It's also the same music that plays on the DVD menu screens.
