Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Chosen answer: He simply doesn't like Canseco, which is why he sarcastically asks Casey if he actually paid money for the Canseco bat.

Phaneron

Answer: Canseco was a star in the 80s, so a bat with his name on it would have been very expensive. Raphael is basically calling him a thief, probably because he doesn't look like he can afford it.

LorgSkyegon

Answer: Jose Canseco had one of the best baseball careers, so anything with his name became priceless but it all came to an end when it was revealed he used steroids.

Answer: The Oakland A's with Canseco on the team won the World Series the year before this movie came out, while the New York Yankees and Mets both posted abysmal seasons. As a proud New Yorker, Raph was surely disgusted that Casey Jones would carry merch bearing the name of another team's star player, especially right after they won a ring! That's the behavior of a band-wagon fan, after all. It seems Casey would agree with him as well, as his response to the insult is not to defend Canseco or the A's, but to shrug and say he got the bats on a 2-for-1 Sale.

Question: Why does Casey crush Shredder in the garbage truck?

Rob245

Answer: Most likely to kill Shredder and make sure that there would be no way to come back but, as seen in the sequel, Shredder does return.

Question: What was Shredder's plan? Surely he'd have the Foot go beyond petty thievery eventually. I never saw it addressed in the movie.

Rob245

Answer: It's not really petty thievery. Shredder essentially has control over a large crime syndicate which is involved in pickpocketing, burglary, and highjacking. And that's just the gang itself. The Foot Clan itself is probably involved with other activities that we haven't seen.

Question: What does Shredder say to Leonardo when we first see them fighting on the roof?

Answer: Which part are you talking about? After they mention Splinter's name? Shredder says he had a name, implying Splinter is dead. Leo says "you lie" to which Shredder says "do I?" When Shredder pins Leo down, he looks at the other Turtles and says to them "he dies. Weapons." Meaning he'll kill Leo if the others don't disarm themselves.

Bishop73

Not from that part, I mean from the first time they face off. As Leo does his double sword slash at Shredder, you can hear Shredder say something, but it's unintelligible and not on the closed captions.

When it's just Shredder and Leo fighting, neither are saying anything. They're just grunting.

Bishop73

Answer: Shredder says, "How did you get this strong?". If you find the clip on YouTube, it's captioned.

Yes! I hear it now! Thank you.

Question: Why was the name of the news station that April works at changed from Channel 6 to Channel 3?

Answer: Either April took a new job with a different TV station, or this is a movie inconsistency.

raywest

Question: When Splinter is being held captive by Shredder how was he able to survive? He seems to be held by him for quite some time so shouldn't he have been dead?

Answer: Meditation, by putting themselves in a deep mental state, they could go days without food or sleep. It's said, that some hardcore mystics can actually stop their own hearts.

Revealing mistake: When three of the turtles are playing Trivial Pursuit and Leonardo runs in to announce Splinter is alive, you can see a wire coming out of Raphael's shell. I guess it's for the animatronic head, but it's visible. (00:59:30)
