Spy Kids

Continuity mistake: In the opening shot of San Diablo, the overhead shot zooms in on an entirely empty rectangular grassy area with several trees lined up on two opposite sides and a monument at the center. In the following ground shots the area is completely different, and is now filled with many trees, playground equipment, children, etc. (00:45:35)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When the Thumb Thumbs fly out of the clothing store chasing after the clothing rack, the rack is hit by a red car, then topples over, and they are about two feet apart while both are within the lines of the crosswalk. However, in the next overhead shot they are quite far apart from each other and both, especially the car, are a considerable distance away from that crosswalk. (00:42:25)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the safehouse, when Carmen looks at the photo of Machete and her father, in the shot facing her, the photo is visible from the back side. In this shot, Gregorio (the taller one) actually wears a white tux, while Machete wears the black tux and much of his white shirt is exposed, and the background is very dark. Yet, in the close-ups of the photo, Gregorio wears the correct black tux, Machete's white shirt is not visible at all and the background is very light. It's obviously different photos. Also, later when they arrive at Machete's, when Carmen has the photo in her hands, it is the same 'wrong' photo when the shot faces her. In the close-up of the code names the fold in the photo differs from the previous shot and as Carmen flips the pic there is a brief glimpse of Machete's white shirt and dark background. The way she holds the photo in the close-ups and wide shots differ as well. When Carmen is at the park, the fold and handwriting behind the photo differ in the shot facing Carmen and the close-up of the writing. (00:34:50 - 00:46:05)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the safehouse Juni removes the cloth over the Machete BuddyPacks and it lies on the edge of the table. The cloth's position constantly changes in the following shots. (00:39:10)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Ms. Gradenko arrives at the safehouse and is showing Juni that the Fooglies are mutated agents, Carmen is standing near the kitchen. When Ms. Gradenko shows Juni what the Fooglies are saying backwards and the shot goes back to Juni, Carmen is standing next to him. (00:36:45)

Continuity mistake: As Gregorio grabs Minion to toss him onto the metal chair in the robotics lab, in the wide shot, the top segment of the chair above the curve is much shorter than in the following shots. During the first sequence of shots the entire metal chair is about 6 inches thick and there is a matching chair directly behind it. However, when Minion says, "Fools!" the chair behind his shoulders is barely an inch thick now! Then in the last shot looking up at his Fooglie head, the chair is thick once again, but there is no chair directly behind it. (01:10:45)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: The amount and positions of the robot children change significantly in consecutive shots, when they file in and then stand in front of Gregorio, Ingrid and the rest, while Lisp and Minion look on. (01:17:00)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: In the exterior shot looking in through the puzzle window, the black book behind Floop changes position in a following shot. As Floop counts down, when the men move the tables the large glass pitcher changes position. Then, when Floop says, "One!" the chair with the purple seat is in front of the large chair to Lisp's left, yet when Johnny jumps over Lisp, the purple chair is gone. (00:13:15 - 00:14:30)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Juni and Carmen arrive at Floop's castle, in the first shot, as their heads pop up out of the water, their hair is completely flat and soaked, yet, in the next shot as they see the Thumb Thumb and all the following shots, their hair is not nearly as wet. (00:59:45)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: As Minion is about to turn Gregorio into a Fooglie, he says, "Every weekday morning between 7:30 and 8:00," and Juni's unfolded Fooglie picture lies on the table beside the hat, with the folds visible. In the next close-up as the machine scans the picture, the paper's position differs, note the folds and the hat. (This has nothing to do with the angle of the camera.) (01:05:20)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Carmen and Juni arrive at the safe house, as they walk towards it the shadow on the front door keeps changing. That shadow should not change as the kids walk closer. (00:27:15)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: After the red alert alarm goes off, Uncle Felix grabs the kids' emergency backpacks. When he places them on the table their positions differ greatly in the following shots. (00:20:35)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Juni and Carmen are flying the aircraft to the castle, Carmen slams into her brother and he falls forward onto the flight stick. The flight stick goes forward but the aircraft goes up, not down.

Continuity mistake: When the large doors to the grand room open, robot Johnny runs up the corridor towards Lisp and the door to the virtual room as well as its two signs, are at the end of the corridor. Yet when Gregorio and Carmen 'drop in' on Floop's table, the wall with a window is at the end of the corridor. Then when Minion receives the Third Brain from the robots the virtual room doors are visible, however in the following shots the wall with the window is back once again. (00:14:30 - 00:52:30)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Carmen chases the man with the Third Brain, the large Spanish billboard for the Floop's Fooglies show advertises the "best show for children" to be on channel 36 at 8:00am. When Minion turns Gregorio into a Fooglie, Minion tells him and Ingrid that their kids will still be able to see their father, "Every weekday morning between 7:30 and 8:00." (00:41:15 - 01:05:20)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: As Carmen and Juni stand in the shadows and encounter the first Thumb Thumb at the castle, the black oxygen tube on Carmen's shoulder changes position in consecutive shots, as does Juni's position behind Carmen. (01:00:10)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: After Carmen and Juni board the Super Guppy boat/sub, the Thumb Thumbs break through the bookcase creating a mess at the secret entrance. When Carmen runs back out to retrieve the locator, in the shot facing Carmen's back as she crawls in the distance, the bookcase/door is intact. (00:22:30)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: Carmen sends the anchor up into the circular puzzle opening above and in the next close-up the anchor attaches itself to the puzzle structure. She then attaches the base of the anchor device on robo-Juni's back and when he goes flying up, the actual puzzle shapes are completely different from the previous close-up. The way the anchor is anchored differs as well. (01:13:45)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: The exterior shots of the clothing store Ukressa, that Carmen and Juni fly into, show the storefront and a good portion of the sidewalk to be in shadow, yet in the interior shots as they and the Thumb Thumbs fly in, there is bright sun streaming in through all the windows and doors. (00:42:05)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: At the safe house, as Carmen picks up and begins to read the book "How To Be A Good Spy," the wicker basket tower stands to the side of the stone wall, behind the wicker bench. Yet when she says, "A good spy has no fear," the wicker tower stands in front of the stone wall. Throughout this scene the tower changes position, depending on camera angle. Then, after Ms. Gradenko arrives, the tower and its contents change position in the following consecutive shots. (00:34:15 - 00:35:20)

Super Grover

Continuity mistake: When Juni handcuffs the metal box to his wrist, it switches back forth from his right wrist to his left over and over again. (00:35:05)
