Trivia: Richard O'Brien, who played Riff Raff and also co-wrote the film as well as writing all the songs used in the film, originally wanted the film to start off in black and white and suddenly turn into colour during the Time Warp number when they all run into the huge room and see everyone singing and dancing. But the studio refused.
Trivia: Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon actually were a couple at the time the film was made. 20th Century Fox wanted some Americans cast in the British production which is why they were hired. (Source: The Guardian).
