Continuity mistake: At the end when everyone is dancing with Smash Mouth, just before Randy plays the harmonica Vera is singing with the singer of Smash Mouth, then in the next shot she is dancing behind Randy as he plays, and then in the next shot she is back dancing with the lead singer. Factual error: When Whoopi and her daughter get in the rocket car, look at the wheels, they are ordinary car wheels with car tires. The tires would literally disintegrate well before the car reached 745 miles per hour.
Other mistake: In the field, as Duane is flying into the cows, one of the cows jumps "up" before Duane even hits it. (01:01:35)
Continuity mistake: When Nick walks to Tracy to tell her his great comeback, she closes her book. In the next shot she has it opened at the same page as before, and then closes it again. (00:33:05)
Continuity mistake: When Vera and Merrill roll off of the cliff, into the pile of cars, between shots the cars around them change. (00:53:10)
Audio problem: When Nick is talking to his friend in the casino lobby, in a side view his friend says "...not one quarter..." but you can clearly see his mouth doesn't move. (00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: When Randy is driving Hitler's car, the scenery that they drive past changes in every shot. (00:42:55)
Revealing mistake: When Owen is using the machine, the golden coin drops down, however the slot machine is still spinning and hasn't yet stopped. (00:12:55)
Continuity mistake: When Kimberley spots the Barbie museum sign, the markings on the road change in every shot. Sometimes it’s a broken yellow line, sometimes it's double yellow lines, sometimes it's one whole yellow line and broken yellow line. (00:39:45)
Continuity mistake: When Jason and Kimberley are jumping on the beds, the bolster on one of the beds falls off in one shot, but is back on in the next. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: When all the characters get to Silver City and get to the locker room, we see Seth Green in the background and the dude with the tongue ring in front leaning on the door frame. The next shots shows Seth in the front and the tongue guy behind him saying he's sleeping. How did Seth get there so fast? (01:32:45)
Continuity mistake: In the Balloon Chase scene, if you watch the sky it changes a couple of times. One time it's overcast, the next it is evening and the sky is orange. (01:02:25)
Continuity mistake: As Duane is about to hit the first cow in the field, the direction it is facing changes instantly between shots. (01:01:25)
Continuity mistake: In the conference / buffet room, Blaine looks at the reflection of his tounge in a small shiny, silver dish. Between shots he changes from holding the dish landscape to portait and then back again. (00:14:05)
Visible crew/equipment: When Duane hits the second cow while hanging from the rope, if you watch carefully you can see the head of someone, bent down behind the cow, wearing a white hat. (01:01:30)
Continuity mistake: When Donald Sinclair rolls the die across the table, it rolls well past Blaine, but in the next shot it is right in front of him. (00:17:30)
Factual error: The bullet that was fired and travels next to the rocket car defies the laws of physics. Assuming that the bullet was fired parallel to the ground, the bullet should remain in the air for the same length of time as it would take to drop the bullet from the same height. The bullet in this scene remained in the air for a much longer period of time.
Continuity mistake: Tracey's hair in the helicopter jumps from under the headset to falling around her face and back again.
Factual error: As Whoopi Goldberg and her daughter stop the rocket car, the engines on it are clean and shining. After driving through all the brush, not only would they have been very dirty and filled with plants, they would probably have been FODed (Foreign Object Damage) out and quit running long before it ran out of fuel.
Revealing mistake: When Vera and Merill are talking to the squirrel lady, whenever you can see the ground behind the squirrel lady, near one of the cages, you can see a squirrel that is obviously fake. It is not moving at all and looks like it is carved from wood.
Answer: They only had blanks - the non-cut keys that are used to make keys. So when they saw those, they knew that the guy had their key.
