The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Continuity mistake: Coming out of the Chinese restaurant, Emma Stone is closing her coat, and you can see in the view from behind that she even completes the movements to properly tie the belt. The scene continues, the belt is perfectly fitting and closed, but the last shot of the scene shows Gwen Stacy in front of the door with the coat open and the belt loose. (00:17:35)

Continuity mistake: When Peter is kissing Gwen by the podium, Garfield's right hand is on Emma Stone's cheek, but in the reverse angle his hand is on the middle of her back. (00:14:35)

Continuity mistake: The very first time we see Max Dillon, he's carrying literal blueprints around. He mumbles "There's more room on the sidewalk"; notice behind him just after he says "Excuse me", a man with white hair and beard, smartly dressed with a handkerchief in his breast pocket. The shot changes and the same extra is coming from the opposite direction in front of Jamie Foxx. (00:09:15)

Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Richard Parker hears his son Peter calling his name, and he rushes to check on him, opening the door to his study who has been ransacked by someone. That's the same scene as the first movie, only it is absolutely not the same; not only the position of the items in the room is different (and so also the lighting, since lamps were amongst those objects) but Campbell Scott opens the door using both hands instead of just his left (check out the same timecode of the first movie). Continuity mistake: When Gwen is summoned by her parents to take a graduation family picture she says to Peter she'll work "all night long" and places her left hand on Peter's neck. When the shot changes her hand is gone. (00:16:30)

Continuity mistake: After graduation, when Peter kisses Gwen he places his hand on her cheek. When the shot changes the hand is gone. Also, her hair is covering her cheek or perfectly brushed depending on the angle. (00:16:25)

Continuity mistake: While confronting Rhino, before Spidey tosses the loudspeaker there are two cops to his right, and two other cops 4 meters behind. He throws the loudspeaker backwards, which in no way could've been grabbed by anyone. When the shot changes the cops on the right are magically behind Spidey, ready to catch the loudspeaker. Furthermore, its movement is totally unrealistic, revealing it's a CGI image with a fake movement to allow for the cop to grab it. (02:12:15)

Continuity mistake: After Spiderman saves Max and gives him the blueprints, Max's hairstyle keeps changing between shots, several shots before Spidey fixes his hair. (00:09:50)

Factual error: Towards the end of the film, Spiderman takes his web and uses it to connect to the different power conduits that Electro blew open, ties them together, and power the city back up. Electricity uses several different wires, and crossing them would cause things to blow up or short out. What should have happened when Gwen threw the switch was another power failure, instead of the city's power being restored.

Question: The is something that I didn't understand in the movie. Spiderman killed Electro, which is something completely out of character. What was Marc Webb thinking?

Answer: Peter didn't set out to kill Electro, but he has to stop him somehow. Overloading him is pretty much all Peter has to work with in terms of stopping Electro's rampage. He doesn't know what effect it will have on his opponent, but he hopes that it will serve to stop him in his tracks, which it does. Had Peter set out with the specific intention of killing Max, that would indeed have been wildly out of character, but he didn't - he simply did what he had to do to stop him. It's unlikely that Max is actually dead anyway; it's well known that Sony intend to bring the Sinister Six into play in upcoming movies and Electro has been a key member of most incarnations of that team, making it highly likely that he'll be back.
