Factual error: After the naval battle, Thraex is waiting for an informant who tips him off about Lucilla and Marcus Acacius's plans. And of course, as a well-educated gentleman of 200 AD, he kills time by reading the newspaper. Wait, what? Needless to say (to anyone but Ridley Scott, probably), ancient Romans wouldn't/couldn't exactly get their news by newspaper, the press having not been invented yet. This one looks so modern in its layout it even has headlines and a proper publication title, "Roma Viridia."
Factual error: In the diner, the kids listen to/dance to Britney Spears' "Toxic," which didn't release as a single until January 2004. This takes place in 2003.
Factual error: The movie, by various accounts, takes place 300 years after the apes took over and humans were rendered "dumb" (both literally and in the (non-PC), mute meaning of the word) or went underground. But yet they're making contact with a communication satellite. Satellites don't function for 300 years; they require occasional course corrections to keep from entering the atmosphere and burning up. Course corrections require propellant. The propellant wouldn't last 300 years. And the electronics.
Factual error: When Rain shoots the Xenomorphs in zero gravity, their blood forms long ribbons and other splatter-type patterns. In reality, due to surface tension, liquid in zero gravity forms into spheres. The blood would not have remained 'stretched out' like it does.
Factual error: Ian Fleming explains to March-Phillipps that the U-boats need "fuel and torpedoes, but they also need carbon dioxide filters, for oxygen." U-boats didn't have CO2 filters. They had the air on board when they dived, which, along with the batteries supplying the electric motors they used when underwater, limited the time they could remain submerged. There were several instances of U-boats being forced to surface after long periods of being depth charged; their air supply had been exhausted. (00:12:00)
Factual error: The Torre delle Milizie is visible from the courtyard in the Vatican and looks fairly close. You can't even see the tower from the Vatican. It's quite a long way away.
Factual error: The characters are using Channel 9 on the CB radios, which is a reserved channel for emergency use, not civilian use for communications.
Factual error: Whilst trapped in the basement, the two sisters pull a rug towards them to obtain some matches, then take them downstairs and light them by striking them on a rough surface. The matchbox is labelled 'safety matches' so they would not light without using the striker pad on the box. (01:12:00 - 01:14:00)
Factual error: When Raban meets the Baron Harkonnen in Harkonnen's bath, the water reaches nearly the top of the bath. As Harkonnen's large body descends into the liquid, the level of the liquid does not rise, in contradiction to Archimedes' principle. (00:46:37)
Factual error: Near the end of the film, each time Harker pulls the trigger to shoot, the magazine doesn't spin to load a new bullet. This is especially noticeable when she tries to shoot the doll.
Factual error: In Episode 1 we see a view of the Vegas strip labelled 1956. We see several more recent cars including a 1963 Cadillac Fleetwood.
Factual error: When Santa delivers Christmas presents, he visits Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Sydney, and Tokyo in that order. Due to time zones, the correct order would be Sydney, Tokyo, Paris, and Rio. (01:53:00)
Factual error: The President and Agent Miles commandeer a small plane at an Astovian airfield to fly to Ramstein U.S. Air Force Base. Miles identifies the craft as Air Force One, as the President is on board. However, "Air Force One" is the designation only for Air Force planes that fly the President (similar to how "Marine One" is called that because it is a Marine helicopter). Non-military planes, such as the one they are flying, typically carry the call sign "Executive One" when the President is on board.
Factual error: The insignia on Staff Sgt. Branson's uniform is incorrect. The insignia on her camouflage blouse is for a US Army Staff Sgt, not a US Air Force Staff Sgt. (00:03:58)
Factual error: Someone shouts "jobsworth" at a London Underground official. This term is first recorded in 1970. The film is set in 1940.
Factual error: She's driving down the highway, and her car suddenly and immediately dies, with no opportunity to pull off or park. When she gets out of the car, we see it sitting on the bare forest floor - not even a footpath, much less a road. 14. (00:14:30)
Factual error: During the scene inside the submarine, you see a Commander (O5) giving orders to a captain (O6). This would never be a thing on any vessel. You would have a Commander as a Commanding Officer on a submarine, but not having a Captain working for the Commander.
Factual error: Film is supposedly showing Hollywood circa 2010, but in a shot of Hollywood Blvd, the Dolby Theatre sign is visible. However, Dolby didn't get naming rights to the former Kodak Theatre until 2012. Also of note, a few seconds later, another shot of Hollywood Blvd is shown, this time with the Kodak lettering correctly visible. (00:01:00)
Factual error: Justin Kemp is summoned for the jury hearing on Monday, 26 October 2022, according to the letter his wife holds in close-up at the beginning of the movie. Hard to be there on Monday, since 26 October in 2022 was a Wednesday.
Factual error: The scientist's car wouldn't still be able to start after standing in the lab's parking lot for three years.
