Best drama movie mistakes of 2013
Factual error: When Ryan enters the space station and removes her spacesuit she is shown wearing only a tank top and boy shorts. In reality, according to NASA's official webpage astronauts wear a liquid cooling and ventilation garment and an absorption garment (space diapers) under their suit.
Factual error: The movie is set around 1995. But the SWAT team in the movie is wearing gear from the 2000s. (MICH-2000 helmet, modular tactical vest, M4 variant with picatinny rails and scope). Plus, in a scene when the guys are shopping for a taser (gun shop scene), some of the rifles on display are from 2000s era. AR-15 variants with variant stock, foregrip and picatinny rail. Those style of weapon system were unheard of in early 90s. Even Special Forces just adopted it by the late 90s.
Character mistake: In the scene where Nicki is being interviewed by Vanity Fair, she refers to her younger sister, "Gabby." Nicki is the character based upon Alexis Neiers. In the movie, her younger sister's name is supposed to be Emily. Gabby is the real life name of Alexis' younger sister.
Continuity mistake: During the dinner scene at Tom's, a couple of shots before Tom's phone rings and he goes to answer it, Nick's wine glass is about half full. After Daisy leaves to go to Tom and the shot cuts back to Nick, the level of wine in his glass has notably decreased, without him touching it.
Revealing mistake: Early on, after Clary blasts the demon with a homemade explosion that blows a huge fireball across the kitchen and blasts out the window, there is no sign of anything being burned, not even the curtains. The kitchen is only in a slight shambles and there are small fires burning in isolated areas that never spread or char anything.
Continuity mistake: In the very last scene in New Zealand when Jordan is giving a motivational speech, he approaches his first target in the audience and says 'Sell me this pen.' As he does so, he holds out a pen in his right hand. When we cut to the shot to the person's face, we see that the pen is in Jordan's left hand; this goes on and on with every person.

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Marcus is removing the shrapnel from his leg, when he gets to the last and largest piece, he places the medallion from his necklace in his mouth to bite down on. As the scene transitions from the leg to his face as it is removed, he appears to no longer have the medallion in his mouth. Then once the shrapnel is removed, he collapses and still has the medallion in his mouth.

Continuity mistake: In the bathroom after she feels sick, Jackie's wife is at the sink. After a brief conversation, another woman tells her she might be pregnant. She looks at the mirror with her mouth open as she thinks. It cuts to showing the mirror and her reflection shows her mouth closed.

Other mistake: When Gerry and Segen are in the plane towards Cardiff, a zombie attacks a flight attendant and a whole section of the plane. Despite the fact that what's happening would be obvious to the passengers of that section, no one even tries to escape the attack by going to the back of the plane, in Gerry's section. Gerry and the passenger have the time to pile up luggage without anybody from the front section interfering.
Factual error: When Sawyer and Cale take Cadillac One ("The Beast"), they eventually want to shoot a rocket launcher at the fence. Sawyer wants to do this while hanging out of the window. The real Cadillac one is bullet proof and have several layers of glass with the final one softer not only to prevent the bullet but the more deadlier threat glass pieces. Only the driver side can open approx 3 inches.
Factual error: When the shuttles are approaching the station, their engines are firing from the rear, meaning they are in constant acceleration toward the station. When arriving at a station, you would need to slow down as you approach, meaning the engines should be firing forward (or the shuttle should reverse direction). This happens in all scenes where shuttles are approaching the station.
Factual error: In the scene where the young Helen Goff is traveling by train with her family, it's obvious that an American engine and coaches have been used, instead of a Queensland Rail locomotive of the era. None of the QR locomotives had flared smokestacks like on the one seen in the movie. The coaches are also incorrect - as far as I know, none of the Queensland Rail wood coaches had clerestory roofs with a set of windows in them like seen in the movie. When Helen looks out the back of the train, it's also obvious that the tracks are spaced at 'standard gauge' (4' 8.5"). They should be closer together, as railways in Queensland are built to 3'6" gauge instead. There is also no such company as the 'Queensland Victoria Railway Co', as marked on the coaches, as all railways in Australia are state owned.
Continuity mistake: When we first see Alfrid with the Master of Laketown, he is talking about the rebellious people. On his left shoulder is a big splat of yellow goo, probably from a thrown egg. In the previous scene, where he confronts Bard and tries to have the barrels of fish dumped in the water, he hasn't got the yellow goo on his shoulder yet. In the extras of the Extended edition it is revealed that there was a scene filmed where Alfrid was pelted with eggs by the townsfolk when he walked to the Master's house, but the scene was not included in either the theatrical or the extended version. The egg also explains his line: 'the mood of the people is turning ugly'.

Other mistake: When Philomena and the journalist are waiting to board a return flight from Washington to London, he calls his office in London where a clock shows it is 8:55. That would make it 3:55 in D.C. It can't be 3:55 pm because it is dark; so it has to be 3:55 am. And no flights leave for London until 3 or 4 hours later.
Continuity mistake: There is a shot of the beans in Jack's hand when the monk gives them to him. There are a total of 8 beans. Later, one of the beans goes under the floorboards of Jack's house and that turns into a beanstalk, bringing the bean count down to 7. After climbing the beanstalk, Roderick forces Jack to give him the beans. Jack keeps one of the beans bringing the bean count down to 6. No more beans are used after this until the giants use the beans as a way down to Earth. But when the lead giant takes the beans out of the bag, there are now only 5 beans.
