Continuity mistake: We see a close up of Gabriella slipping in some milk, but in the wide shots there is no milk or carton on the floor. (00:41:30)
Continuity mistake: When the red Ford Bronco is driven off the ferry (ignoring all the impossible factors required for it to successfully do so), it flips through the air and contacts the water going backwards, its right/rear tail light entering the water first. The closer next shot shows the truck sink somewhat as it continues to flip backward, onto its roof. The very next shot shows the interior of the truck as it enters the water right-side up and going forward as water rushes in. Denzel lurches forward and down, driving his face into the water that is about waist level. The next exterior shot is underwater as the truck now lands in the water, nose first and right-side up. Continuity mistake: In the first scene in Giuseppe Baldini's perfume shop, his employee comes in and starts setting three candles in a candelabra. He sets them very straight and upright, however after we cut to Guiseppe asking if he knows of Amor et Psyche and back to the shot of the candelabra again, all three candles are wonky. Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, Andy is seen eating a bagel, then the shot changes and she has no bagel, but when she goes down the stairs into the subway the bagel is back in her hand.
Continuity mistake: After Costello smashes Costigan's wrist he hands all of the dollars he has in his right hand. A frame later money reappears in the hand.
Visible crew/equipment: When Steven Weber and Kelly Overton find Tom Skerritt's motorcycle in the desert a crew member is visible in the chrome that runs along the red gas tank.
Continuity mistake: When Barris is served in the diner, french fries are scattered over his plate. When seen again, the french fries are replaced with vegetable sides.
Revealing mistake: The film is set in 1997 the year of Diana's death. However there is a scene in where Tony Blair is being driven in a car and you can see a Mercedes through the rear window with an '02' number plate indicating a 2002 model vehicle.
Continuity mistake: After Eisenheim has disappeared, literally, from stage, Uhl and the policemen search his office. There, Uhl finds Eisenheim's notebook with the design of the locket in it. There is a large tear in the middle of the paper. It disappears when the inspector looks at it again after he has found the locket in the Prince's barn. (01:31:00 - 01:31:45)
Factual error: At one point, a screencast of a computer screen shows a video of Barry Brickman on the desktop environment of Windows XP (operating system, developed by Microsoft, released in 2001). However, the app that plays the video is QuickTime for Mac (which runs on Mac OS only), not QuickTime for Windows (which runs on Windows XP). These two versions of QuickTime are almost identical in every respect, except for their title bar (the narrow horizontal area above the video). (00:19:15)

Character mistake: In the training room, after Randall is discussed as the record holder, the students are brought to attention. All but one is standing at attention, he is in the back on the right hand side, standing at ease.
Continuity mistake: During the last few scenes in the movie, when Hannah asks Jenny if she needs help with the plane, they knock knuckles together. When the shot is taken from behind Hannah, she is shown wearing gloves, but when the shot position changes to behind Jenny, the gloves magically disappear.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where John is talking to Van Buren underneath the bar, John has a large spot on his neck, as well as a scab and red mark on his chin. These aren't present at another point in the film. (01:05:25)

Revealing mistake: While Suit is in a coma, there's a closeup of the monitor beside his bed showing Suit's vitals, and at the top of the monitor's screen are the words "adult simulating," with the timed "simulating" flashing off and on. There's also a strip of narrow filament tape covering "simulating," but the tape is transparent, so we can still see it flashing. (01:17:25)
Visible crew/equipment: When Angier goes to Tesla's laboratory and walks to the gate, on the far right side of the fence a figure can be seen, apparently holding something ahead. It seems to be one of the film crew holding a boom mike upright. (00:09:59)
