Best animated movie mistakes of 2006
Other mistake: After the first race, in the scene where Lightning is rushing out on the stage thinking he is the winner, loads of confetti is shot out when the King and Chick Hicks gets onto the stage. The confetti is then falling down, but not a single flake hits any of the cars. However, in the following shots, you can see plenty of it on the stage underneath the cars, even though they haven't moved.
Continuity mistake: George puts one of his feet in the can of red paint and then walks to the bathroom. He leaves footprints on the floor with one foot only. When Ted arrives at the apartment, he sees George's footprints leading to the bathroom and there are red footprints for both feet.

Continuity mistake: When DJ, Chowder, and Jenny are drawing the dummy with the cold medicine, before DJ walks in there is nothing next to the Nebbercracker house drawing except two trees. But, when DJ comes in, there is a dotted line going to the house, a drawing of the kids in a circle, and a drawing of a red eye in the doorway of the house.
Continuity mistake: In the first 'Ice Age' Diego isn't afraid of water (in the beginning he chases the woman and the baby through the river before she jumps off the waterfall and never shows any fear) but in this one he suddenly is. It's not like that he is just afraid of swimming because in the second movie he shows fear anytime when he touches water.
Continuity mistake: When Yankee goes into his bedroom after losing the baseball game in the sandlot, he tears a hand-drawn picture of himself, Babe Ruth and his dad off the wall. The pieces of the picture fall on the bedroom floor. A few shots later the pieces are missing. Yankee was the only one in the room, and he didn't move them. Plus the window is closed, so it couldn't have been wind.
Continuity mistake: When Boog is "attacking" Elliot backstage at the Amphitheater and is pulling the ropes which the audience thinks are his intestines, the ropes are pulled willy-nilly and at great lengths when viewed through the curtain. But when viewed backstage while Boog is trying to tie Elliott with the rope, the rope is coiled neatly in a pile, except for a short length in Boog's paws.

Continuity mistake: This is after news has arrived to the elephant village that Ayutthaya is fighting back after being occupied by the Burmese for some time. The raiders arrive and are rounded up before falling into a trap. At first, the pit is almost square, with rounded edges. Cut to an aerial shot and the same pit is now a circle.
Revealing mistake: Right after McQueen asks what the Ghostlight is, it cuts back to the other cars. Luigi is right next to the firetruck and some gas pumps. The firetruck's door is very reflective, and the gas pumps are visible in it. But Luigi is right by the pump, and he is not reflected in the firetruck's door.
Factual error: Throughout the film, most Japanese words are spelled in Katakana. In real-life Japanese, however, Katakana is exclusively used for foreign words adopted into Japanese language, like 'table', 'television' (mostly it is abbreviated to 'telebi') and 'racing car'. But in the film, even indiginous Japanese words such as 'samurai' are spelled in Katakana, not - as they should be - in Hiragana (the syllable system used for native words).
Continuity mistake: When Cruise and Lugnut are driving home on the road, there are road markings shown on the road that are about a foot long, with quite a thick paint job, but when Cruise starts to speed away from Lugnut later in the scene, the road markings are suddenly much longer, with a much thinner paint job.
