Trivia: Scenes for the film were filmed during the Wimbledon tournament 2003. The actors would walk out on court at the beginning or end of a match as though they were really competing. The officials and spectators were actual tennis officials and spectators, rather than extras. It is the only time in the history of the tournament that this has been allowed.

Trivia: Monroe Cole states that people will be calling him Mr. President for the rest of his life. While it is true people do tend to call former presidents by that title (thus not a movie mistake), as a point of trivia; is it incorrect to address a former president as "Mr. President" or "former president (surname)." While Cole doesn't have to worry about his ex-wife taking his title, leaving office will do that. It's the media that perpetuates this presidential title error.
Trivia: Co-star Suzanne Shepherd first read the script, and was absolutely horrified by the explicit sexual content. She broke down crying and begged to not do the film. However, she changed her mind when she met director John Waters, who managed to convince her to stay on.
