Revealing mistake: When Slim and her daughter are running away from the husband they run onto a bus. When it cuts to the bus driving away you can see that Slim is holding a dummy, which is supposed to be her daughter.
Continuity mistake: When Graham goes into Ray's kitchen you see the vegetables scattered and the knife further on the other side of them. When Graham leans up for the knife, however, it is on the other side of the now grouped vegetables. (00:56:40 - 00:58:10)
Factual error: As the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry lifts off from LZ X-Ray at the end of the battle, it can be seen that there are no more American troops left at the battlefield. However, by the time 1/7 CAV left LZ X-Ray, it had been relieved by two full battalions (2/7 CAV and 1/5 CAV). There were around 700 American soldiers occupying LZ X-Ray by the time 1/7 CAV lifted off.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Hannah gives her valedictorian speech at the end of the movie, she congratulates the 2002 graduates, but the tassel on her mortar board says 2001.
Plot hole: When Ben Affleck is meeting with the man who changes Samuel Jackson's credit record, the man remarks that Samuel Jackson should not have told Ben Affleck that he was in insurance. Samuel Jackson never told Ben Affleck that he was in insurance.
Continuity mistake: When Rabbit and his mom's boyfriend were kicking each other's ass inside the Smith's trailer, Rabbit pushes or punches the boyfriend from the kitchen to the living room, breaking a small wooden post in a quick shot. A few shots later, when Rabbit returns to the trailer, the wooden post is intact. There was no time to fix it.
Continuity mistake: During the part of the movie flashback when Vivi's children were getting sick, 4 children were shown. Later on there were only 3 children that were seen in the remaining scenes. (01:13:15)
Continuity mistake: When they bring in the car crash victim (future heart donor), the victim is in perfect condition. No blood, broken bones or anything. Pretty good to have been hit by a truck. (01:32:20)
Factual error: When May cuts her eye out with the scissors at the end of the movie, the fake eyeball used for the effect is perfectly round. A human eyeball is far from being perfectly round.
Continuity mistake: When Warren's daughter, Jeannie, fixes him a sandwich for lunch, while on camera, Warren is seen taking two bites from the sandwich. The sandwich is shown with a bite missing and then appears later to have been uneaten. (00:37:25)
Continuity mistake: When the Owls are playing for their district championship, the other team's best batter comes up in the last inning. As he is walking to the plate, he is wearing Nike shoes, but when he digs into the batter's box, his shoes are Reebok.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Shaun is talking to his Mom in her bedroom before the man on the Stanford board comes over Shaun's Mom takes the same pillow off the bed three separate times. In each shot where it cuts to Shaun then back to his Mom she takes the pillow off the bed.
Continuity mistake: When the oldest son, Patrick, is in the back yard with his father, Patrick is shown with a beer in his hand. The next shot is Patrick's dad offering him a beer and telling him not to act like it's his first time.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the film, Claire's husband is shot once in the back. However, when we see him from the front, he has TWO exit wounds.
Continuity mistake: That must be some damn good string that Mercedes wraps around her finger - 16 years and it's not even dirty or frayed. (00:15:00 - 01:51:15)
Factual error: In the scene of the concert, Simone is a hologram but the microphone is real, as it is set up in the previous scene with Viktor and crew going over details, but one shot shows Simone holding and singing into the microphone, which is impossible for a hologram to pick up. (01:03:40)
Continuity mistake: When Charlie and Valerie talk in the restaurant you see in the background behind Charlie the same waiter approach a lady and lean over her twice in exactly the same way within a few seconds. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Santa is getting married, just after they kiss and Santa looks like Santa again, you can see in the bottom left hand corner Bernard and Curtis giving each other the thumbs up. Factual error: The rifles the British soldiers carried in the film were Lee Enfield rifle No. 4's, these did not go into production until WW2. They should have been using an earlier version of the Lee Enfield rifle.
Continuity mistake: After Rhonda takes a bath, she pours a glass of water. She then slides next to Shawn in the bed. He has a cigarette in his hand with a lot of ash on the end. The next shot is a closeup of him handing her the cigarette. The ash is now much shorter.
