Continuity mistake: In the beginning of the movie Jeff and his wife were moving to San Diego from Massachusetts. Well, they were driving in their new Jeep (with Massachusetts plates) through Arizona. When Amy comments about how fast Jeff is driving, the camera shot shows the speedometer at 80 mph and the odometer shows the Jeep has only 245miles. That must be a new record from MA to AZ..... (Note: not visible on DVD version of film.)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Wayne makes his speech at Szalynski Labs, he pretends to stand in a strange shape. When he does so, his speech cards are facing down. In the very next shot, the cards are facing up.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Vincent is meeting the thug in the pool hall to trade money in exchange for Emily, the thug makes a move for the money bag, and Vincent grabs his arm. At first, he grabs his right arm, then it cuts to another angle and he actually has his left arm.
Continuity mistake: During the first fight scene, the cyborg hunter has dark markings around his eyes. As soon as the fight moves indoors, the markings disappear completely.
Continuity mistake: When the bad guys with the high tech weapons shoot down the helicopter, there is a cop standing directly under the helicopter as it is coming down. The guy who plays the cop is clearly an older looking man with no hair on the top and graying hairs on the side. As Shaq (Steel) goes to tackle him to get him out the way, the stuntman for the cop is clearly recognizable, because the stuntman has a full head of black hair and a part on the left side.
Continuity mistake: Concerns the helicopter carrying Bob Bishop to the White House. The helicopter is shown as having a wheel-chassis during the approach to the landing-site, and skis in the precise moment of landing.
Continuity mistake: Costume continuity throughout the whole film. When the female scientist gets changed into khaki pants they are tight fitting, they alternate between tight and baggy throughout.
Continuity mistake: When Wynn is talking to Al about the mission to blow up the plant, Wynn puts his cigarette out in the ash tray in the scorpion bowl and there are 4 butts in the ash tray, but a minute later when the camera shows the 2 scorpions fighting, the ash tray has no cigarette butts in it. Continuity mistake: In the middle of the hotel fight when Toby and Deliverance go through the door in their hotel room you see the door open and a number of shots impact it. The characters then go through the second of the double doors. This is commented on in the DVD commentary. Not only do the bullets not go through the second door, they don't go through the first. On top of that, you see a shot with the two doors opened, but when the bad guys enter the room the double doors miraculously turn into just one! This layout is then used for the rest of the scene.
Continuity mistake: During the gun battle Kiefer's car gets shot up by the police but during the entire drive afterwards, the car shows no damage.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dunn is collecting gear from the surplus store. The cops show up. When it shows a close-up of the cops in front of the cruiser the wipers are on, but then it goes to a distant shot and they're not on.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the postman gallops by the country house full blast and then comes back to pick up the letter from the boy's hand, you hear hoof sounds for long enough to take him hundreds of metres away, while the camera is on the boy. But when he is actually shown stopping to turn his horse around he has only come as far as the corner of the premises, maybe 20 meters away. (01:53:05 - 01:54:05)
Continuity mistake: When Plato and Sam are driving the van (right before they pass the elderly woman) you can clearly see they are driving through palm-tree Miami. But when it switches to the internal view, the greenscreen scenery shows mountainous pine forests.
Continuity mistake: The downtown skyline keeps changing during the scenes where an asteroid segment is threatening Kansas City.
Continuity mistake: When the Spanish and German defenders of San Juan hill are loading their Maxim machine guns, the cartridge belt is being inserted from the left side. During the fighting, the cartridges are entering the chamber from the right, and the expended belt is exiting on the left.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the cop car is over taking the runaway car you can see the front bumper of the runaway car and it's in perfect condition however earlier you see them take it off. in the next shot its back to normal.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Tia Carerra is reborn. Her deformed servant is chanting a spell and places a flaming dagger in her mummified mouth. She awakens and bursts into flames, just then she touches his badly deformed right hand and it heals. Over the next few camera shots his hand goes back and forth from normal to deformed.
Continuity mistake: The blanket covers of the baby change colors from white at the arena field to multicoloured at the arena hallways. (01:22:43)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Asuka is fighting against the JSDF aircraft, her umbilical cable is severed and she ejects the umbilical plug. She then expands her AT field and the plug is connected in her back again. In the next shot, it isn't there.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where the protagonist is first broken out of jail, at the end of the chase scene with the last two police cars. When they hit the ramp and crash, it is two earlyish model Crown Vics. Before they crash, it is one early model Vic, and one (what was a) late model Crown Vic in 1996.
