Continuity mistake: When Sam and the other girl fall down the mountain, at one shot Sam unlocks the girls snowboard and it drops down the mountain but at one shot before the ski patrol throws the rope down to them you can see (for a second) on the right side of the girl, the corner of the snow board. Then she doesn't have it.
Continuity mistake: When the Owls are playing for their district championship, the other team's best batter comes up in the last inning. As he is walking to the plate, he is wearing Nike shoes, but when he digs into the batter's box, his shoes are Reebok.
Deliberate mistake: The same scene of William Bendix at bat swinging and missing is used repeatedly in the film.
Revealing mistake: When Crewe dumps the car in the river, you can see the wire attached to it that was used to pull it out of the water. Burt Reynolds mentions it on the DVD commentary.
Factual error: Another flag gaffe: The Canadian flag in the 1920s was either the red ensign or the Union Jack. The Maple Leaf only became the national flag in 1965.
Continuity mistake: There is an error in the scene where Dave is drafting behind the Cinzano truck. In the second close up shot of his legs (cranks) pedaling the bike he is in a lower (easier) gear than the previous shot even though he is supposed to be riding significantly faster.
Factual error: In at least two scenes, cars from the 1990's can be seen, despite the fact that the film took place two decades earlier. (00:50:00)
Continuity mistake: Toward the end of the movie when the Dragons are facing the Giants for the Pennant, Hammer is up to bat and get a hit. When you see him round first base, they show a picture of the dugout, where you will find him holding a large hammer. It's tough to be at bat and on the bench.

Continuity mistake: In the cafeteria scene, when Britney sits down and the other girls move away, there is rubbish on the table and a can of Pepsi, but after looking at her phone message she stands up and the table is completely clear of the rubbish.
Factual error: During the movie, Doug watches video from the previous Olympic competition. The skaters are shown performing in a darkened arena lit by spotlights. Special lighting effects like this are not allowed in competition. All competitions take place in a brightly lit arena.
Continuity mistake: When the Kung Fu team is training, the coach throws an egg onto "Steel Leg's" foot. It breaks and some of the yolk gets on the ground. But when the fat player starts eating it, the whole yolk's on the shoe. (00:33:30)
Continuity mistake: Near the end of the film in the final game Ken Carter calls a time out. The clock stops on 36 seconds and after the time out it restarts again on 38 seconds.
Factual error: At the beginning of the movie when all the guys are in the barber shop, a man is wearing a John Deere hat with the modern logo, not the one from 1976.
Continuity mistake: When the soccer coach is talking to the team in the class room she pulls down the world map on the screen. The camera flips back to the team for about 2 seconds and when the camera turns back to the coach the screen is pulled up.

Then 15 seconds later Bud says out loud, writing on a piece of paper the description "5 feet 10 inches, weight 165, blue eyes, sandy hair".
Factual error: The third member of the Yankees with a prominent role in the film is Bob Cerv (roommate of Mickey & Roger). In the film, he is with the team from Opening Day. However, Cerv was actually acquired by the Yankees in May of that year.
Visible crew/equipment: When Ted is sliding down the hill after being chased by a bear, you can see a plastic sled on his back.

Factual error: When Bruno is on his way to Union Station, he's heading on a bridge away from the Lincoln Memorial, which means he's leaving Washington D.C. for Arlington, Virginia, or in other words, he's going the wrong way.
