More Carrie mistakes

Deadman63

More The Green Mile mistakes

Continuity mistake: In Part 3, Chapter 33, two news reporters come to see Annie and interview her about the missing policeman. She walks out with a shotgun full of "double-ought buck", fires a warning shot, and then when she re-enters the house she magically has a rifle, not a shotgun.

More Halo: First Strike mistakes

Factual error: Roland comes from the mountains in the east, arrives at the Great Western Sea, and then decides to travel north (Chapter 1, section 3). This means that as he heads north, the eastern mountains should be on his right and the western sea should be on his left. But as he walks, the sea is on his right and the mountains are on his left (Chapter 1, section 4).

More The Dark Tower II: The Drawing of the Three mistakes

Continuity mistake: In chapter 18 Scudder visits Dr. Nadler at his Manhattan office but in chapter 32 we hear that Nadler was in Martha's Vineyard at the time.

More Hope To Die mistakes

Factual error: During the part of the book where Elspeth Lucas is leaving the Vanguard Motel, she is driving a Corvette. Theo Packman, a spy, has been forced to hide in the trunk of her car because the police have arrived at the motel searching for him. When Elspeth is leaving, the police question her, and shine a flashlight into her car, searching for Theo in the front and back seats. Problem is, Corvettes have never had back seats. They have been a two-seater sports car since they began production in 1953.

More Code to Zero mistakes

Factual error: The author reveals her limited Spanish when she has a character, purportedly a native Spanish speaker, saying to Ingrid, "¿Cuál es su nombre? Su hija es más guapa." Which translates to, "Which is her name? Your daughter is more beautiful." But in the book, those words are rendered as, "What is her name? Your daughter is very pretty." Not only does the author a) mistranslate the Spanish, but she b) gives the woman words no native speaker of Spanish would say.

More White Oleander mistakes

Factual error: In Chapter 7, Andrea's boyfriend Alex sends her an e-mail to tell her that his six-year-old student has slashed a classmate on the arm and that he will have to miss their planned dinner in order to deal with the situation. Andrea thinks about how bad she feels for Alex and his fourth grade student. Fourth graders are 9 or 10 years old, not 6.

More The Devil Wears Prada mistakes

Plot hole: Early on in the book the NSA is described as a top secret agency, an agency very few Americans know exist. However throughout the rest of the book there are many references to groups who openly protest against the NSA, bad widespread publicity, and the majority of Americans being against the agency. If hardly anybody knows about the NSA then how can there be so much open debate about it?

More Digital Fortress mistakes

Other mistake: Near the beginning of the book, an imp says 'Are you going to warp today, Runt, or will pink flowers grow out of my armpits?' But later on in the book No. 1 says 'Pink! We don't have a word for that colour in the demon commonspeak'.

More Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony mistakes

Continuity mistake: On page 159, we are introduced to 'Ensign William Lovell', but later on, on page 188, Captain Keyes calls him 'Ensign Michael Lovell'.

More Halo: The Fall of Reach mistakes

Continuity mistake: Ian Malcolm dies in Jurassic Park. In the epilogue it says that the Costa Rican Government would not "permit the burial of John Hammond or Ian Malcolm", yet he's somehow back to life for this book, presumably because the character in the movie was popular.

More The Lost World mistakes

Continuity mistake: In Chapter 4, Garraty thinks about Jan and her long, dark hair. Later, in Chapter 6, he once again thinks of her, this time with her long, blonde hair.

Twotall

More How My Private, Personal Journal Became a Bestseller mistakes

Factual error: Among the monkeys and apes waiting in Africa to be cured by the doctor, orang-utans are mentioned. But orang-utans are not native to Africa, and it is highly unlikely that they might have crossed the Indian Ocean all the way from Borneo.

More The Story of Doctor Dolittle mistakes

Plot hole: The whole premise for Taylor's being forced to go on the lam with her daughter is that she doesn't have anywhere to go - she can't go to her mother Alice's, since Alice is leaving her husband (i.e, Taylor's stepfather) and so this seemingly makes that house not an option. But it's stated specifically that it's Alice's own house Harland moved into - so it makes no sense at all why Alice can't either go back to her own house, or kick her soon-to-be ex-husband out, or have Taylor share the house with her soon-to-be-ex-husband. It makes no sense except as a plot device.

More Pigs in Heaven mistakes

Continuity mistake: In "the Valley of Horses" Jondalar tells Ayla that the man he beat up had had Zolena as his donii woman the previous year and was still in love with her. In this book he says that the other man wanted Zolena as his donii woman the same year she became Jondalar's, and that the reason for his jealousy was that she picked someone else.

More The Shelters of Stone mistakes
