Continuity mistake: When Francis Fryer throws the cowboy he loses the scarf in his hand but when the camera angle changes he has it again.
Continuity mistake: In the final scene at the hangar where Tom Hanks is being honored, Julia Roberts has gloves on and then doesn't as she is applauding and blowing kisses.
Continuity mistake: When Ed is taking his tie off after the meeting with the PG&E clerk, he loosens it, then they cut to Erin, then back to Ed, and his tie is back to tight around his neck, and he's taking something out of his breast pocket. Then they cut back, and his tie is off. (00:52:42)
Continuity mistake: When one of the siege towers is rolled over the camera, you can see one of the pushers look for the camera and move to avoid it.
Continuity mistake: When John Reed is eating dinner with his wife in their cottage, in one shot he is reaching for a piece of bread. The next shot he's missing the bread and the following shot has him reaching for it again.
Continuity mistake: When Bonnie and Clyde are in the hotel room trying to have sex, Clyde stands up and Bonnie lies on her side and there is a gun right by her face. Throughout the rest of the scene there is no gun on the bed at all.
Continuity mistake: Whale commits suicide by drowning himself in the pool. When Clayton pulls him out the color of Whale's suit changes from black to brownish, and vice versa when Clayton throws him back in. Varying degrees of wetness should not be the reason as he should be drenched too while he is lying at the poolside. (01:33:40)
Continuity mistake: When Robert Crumb is looking at Harvey Pekar's drawings for comic-book ideas while the two eat in a restaurant, the level of the drink in Harvey's glass switches between full and two-thirds full several times.
Continuity mistake: Dwight is showing Toby a Boy's Life magazine. As the camera angle changes he goes from holding it with the back of his hand facing Toby to facing away and back again. (00:45:50)
Continuity mistake: Early in the film, Michael talks to Harry Boland on a boat. During this scene, a cigarette appears in Boland's mouth that was not in the previous shot. (00:40:40)
Continuity mistake: Just before Burt gets ready for his record-setting attempt, he wraps some asbestos cloth around his leg to protect it from the hot exhaust pipe. This does not allow him to fit his leg within the cowling of the bike, so he throws it off and puts his leg in without the protective covering. As he inserts his leg into the cowling, you can see that his pants leg is bunched up around his calf, not tucked into the top of his sock, as is Burt's usual procedure. However, a close up of the leg only a few moments later shows the pants leg tucked into the sock, and he could never have done that once he was fully seated in the cowling.
Continuity mistake: The woman reporter was walking behind Gandhi at the beginning of the movie. At the end, in the "repeat," she wasn't.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie just after Johnny Depp makes his last run of drugs back, he is seated at a table with a curtain at his back. The curtain is split open and if you look close you can see someone standing behind the curtain - their hands are clasped together. Then as Johnny Depp goes to the bathroom and comes back the person is still there then he quickly walks away as Johnny Depp sits down.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where they ride to the top of a hill on horseback, you can see a white van and power lines in the distance.
Continuity mistake: When Morgan is shot while playing pool he is placed on the pool table. An overhead shot shows a wide pool of blood spreading from his right side. In a subsequent shot the pool of blood is much narrower and a completely different shape.
Continuity mistake: Has a scene set during the Festival of Britain (1951). Oldman and Molina are shown at night on the South Bank of the Thames, ostensibly having just attended the Festival. In the background is a very clear view of New Zealand House, which wasn't built until the early 1960s, some ten years after the scene was supposed to take place.
Continuity mistake: In the kitchen scene where Bugsy has made a birthday cake for his daughter but has missed her party because guests arrived, the camera shot changes from Bugsy to his wife and back a couple of times. When the shot is from behind Bugsy, there is smoke coming from the birthday cake candles. When from behind his wife, there is no smoke.
Continuity mistake: When Vince returns the fumbled punt for a touchdown they show shots of Vince from the end zone with players running behind him. In one shot you can see 57 over Vince's left shoulder about 2-3 yards back, then in the next shot 57 is running about 10 yards behind Vince, and then in next shot you can see 57 over Vince's left shoulder again about 2-3 yards back.
Continuity mistake: During the conversation between Jesse James and Charley Ford after James has killed Ed Miller and woke Charley in the middle of the night, Charley's right suspender is initially twisted, yet, in the next shot his suspender is flat against his body, and remains so for the rest of the sequence.
Continuity mistake: At the battle of Edgehill when Crowell's cavalry and Prince Rupert's cavalry are in the middle of a melee and you can see a wound on Crowell's left arm, the same wound he receives at Naseby. It is clear that the scene was meant to be used for the battle of Naseby but was cut and used at Edgehill.
